$10 more expensive no usb hub. But it is not seagate so that is a major +
5GB is the theoretical limit of the USB 3 that they're using in the enclosure and is a dishonest metric to advertise. The drive will never see anything remotely near those speeds for a variety of reasons.

How does this compare with the Seagate Costco deal that goes on sale tomorrow?

In the last deal thread, someone reported getting helium drives.

Does anyone know what drive is inside? Is it a "NAS" drive like some previous iterations? Thanks.

I picked up 2 directly from WD not too long ago. This is a great price!

I ended up with 2 WD80EZAZ drives. Added to my existing array of WD80EFAX drives (shucked running many years strong) and FreeNAS is working great / fine. For my setup I did not have to do the pin mod or anything like that. Easy to shuck. I haven't seen any noticeable temp / performance differences. I read that the EZAZ drives may be Helium. When I ran CrystalDisk there was a code indicating as such. But I'm no Helium drive expert.

Don't expect helium in the 8 tb drives. Last two I got from BB were air drives (wd80edaz).

IMO though air is fine. It's a little hotter (but a little faster) than helium.
