Just saw this on Amazon when shopping for a Sony TV. Pretty good deal for $599.99.

Same price at costco with a better warranty
That was the RU8000. Based on the rtings comparison (https://www.rtings.com/tv/tools/c...eshold=0.1) it's better in every single category (though they are fairly similar in that they have the same strengths and weaknesses). Agreed that here you're just paying for the Sony name as this is a fairly mediocre TV.

I have the RU8000 and love it. If you care, it looks like the Sony has better overall sound quality, which should be surprisingly decent given that I think the sound on the Samsung isn't too bad. Also the remote on the Samsung is excellent (point anywhere, feels very high quality). Cheaper Samsungs have a much cheaper remote.
Lowest ever according to 3camels.

Great price but the Rtings review stops me from buying.

The Sony X750H is a decent TV for most uses. It has a high contrast ratio and outstanding black uniformity, making it a great choice for watching movies and gaming in the dark. Although it gets reasonably bright for watching daytime TV, it isn't bright enough to deliver a good HDR experience. It has decent response time, low input lag, but sadly, it doesn't support variable refresh rate technology.

Seeing how it'd go in my basement, I can't force myself to bite, as much as I'd like to.

Still a fantastic deal.

Review here [rtings.com].

Entry level Sony. IMO you're paying more for the Sony name. An equivalent TV from a second tier manufacturer would probably be $100 less, on sale. Still, if you prefer to purchase from an established brand, this isn't a bad deal.

Five years, man! (apologies to Cheech & Chong)

What's the warranty when purchasing from Amazon? Couldn't find it on the page.

Default Sony warranty is 18 months. Can't beat Costco's 7 year warranty (5 manufacturer and 2 years with Costco Citi card)

The gray uniformity screen is a little worrying. Anything with panning shots, gaming and sports it's going to show up and be very distracting. Never saw little blobs along the bottom of the screen like this one has

How does this compare to the 65" Samsung that Beet Buy just had for $599, marked down from $899? Comparable? Thanks!

From RTINGS Comparison: The Sony X750H is slightly better than the LG UN7300. The Sony has a much higher contrast ratio due to its VA panel, gets a lot brighter in SDR content, and has a wide color gamut. However, the LG's IPS panel has much wider viewing angles and significantly better reflection handling.

Rtings review totally sold me on this model.

"The Sony X750H is a decent TV for most uses."

I definitely want to use for most uses. N41! Thank you!
