$600 is a really good price for the Optoma GT1080HDR. I used to own the Optoma GT1080darbee and it was a pretty good model but the HDR variant is supposed to have improved on it a lot. A big benefit of that model is that it is short throw which means I had a 120" picture with the projector mounted about 4-5' from the wall.
It is especially good for gamers because of its really low input lag.
See what Chris Majestic had to say about it in this breakdown awards video for best projectors of 2019: https://youtu.be/Jo8OHUbnSLY
The UHL55 is actually 4K on the screen (via pixel shifting technology).

The other two $600-ish projectors are 1080p on screen. The fact that they put UHD in the product title is misleading. They can accept 4K input but they downscale to 1080p.

I've been holding out for a price drop on a GT1080HDR and while I'd prefer new this will do the trick. Thanks! TU

Guys I bought a uhl55 from them less than a year ago and have had nothing but trouble with mine... I had to send it in for repair and it took them 2 months to send it back.... it's starting to act up again.... honestly, I wish I had just bought a new one...

Please, can anyone tell me the 599 4ks, they are all not true 4ks right? If I use it for 4k video from youtube, it will down to 1080, is that right? THX

The cheaper 4k dlp projectors pixel shift to create 4k. They have half the pixels of a 4k display but display one pixel then the other each frame. It still looks good but not quite as crisp as true 4k. About 10 years ago, this is the same thing projectors were doing to make 1080p displays.

1500 lumens so this would likely require a very dark room...

Honestly sometimes, you just get a bad projector new or used.... Since its happening again after you already had a repair, I would ask nicely and see if there is any way that Optoma can send you a new replacement instead of repairing your existing unit, never hurts to try. Or ask if there is anything they can do cause the first repair time if it really was 2 months which I have never seen it go that long 3-4 weeks at max from my experience. I dont recall if they even still do advanced rmas of a re manufactured projector, but they might offer that up to you if you cant convince them to send you a new replacement.

For those wondering neither of the high end 4k projectors on here are good for gaming, even though that P1 looks amazing, price not so much needs to hit around $2k to trust a refurb.
