True. But the bad multitool you have is also infinitely better than the good tool that you don't have. Yes, these are garbage, but multitool, even cheap ones, have a place.

No, but it is a good throwaround. Imo every vehicle you travel in should have a few emergency items in it. First aid kit, tie downs, flashlight, and multitool to name a few. Even if this turns one screw and cuts one item in its entire lifetime, those uses in the moment are likely worth the $5 if you have no other option.

My Walmart had a similar display of these in the spring for $2.99 each, I believe. I bought two for emergency tool kits. Quality is meh (I could bend it fairly easily), but worth this price.

These are a little nicer if you can still find them for $2.50:

Good Multi tools are already poor substitutes for real tools. I've got to wonder how bad a budget multi tool is going to be.

Maybe in the kid's toolbox. But I get what you are saying. I've got a $2 Ozark Trail knife in the camping kit. I abuse the crap out of it with no regrets. Surprisingly it holds its own. But I take along the skeletool for actual tooling.

I actually have one of these. It is obviously no leatherman, but it is worth 5-10 bucks.

As good as Gerber? I have a Gerber Surge that rusted after several years and was barely even used.

Got one for $5 a couple years ago. Looks like this one. Worst multi tool I've ever used or seen. Not even worth the $5

Seems an adequate tool as a companion to a tire plug kit and inflator that everyone should have in every vehicle. Often you'll need a tool to pull the object from the tire before permanently repairing it with a plug kit.

These look like VERY poor quality. The kind of tool you wish you wouldn't have relied on having because it's pretty worthless when you really need it.

Almost better to NOT have it and have had brought the proper tool since you weren't relying on it to do the job.

Cheap Chinese toy. Buy a Leatherman for $25 and it will last a lifetime.

These things are terrible. 5 bucks has been the normal price on it for quite a while.

Screw driver collapses when you try to turn it and the knife is so dull it can't cut plastic packaging.

The case is good though and fits most Leatherman.
