I get freezing on my LG ubk90 also especially on 100gb three layer discs. Does the Panny solve this for all discs?
Odd. I bought this model refurbished for like $50 and it has only frozen one time in over 20 discs. Turned it off and back on and it was fine.
The UB820 is right below the Oppo in terms of 'prestige' I personally haven't had any issues whatsoever versus when I had the Sony players. And the feature set on the 820 is quite large with a lot of adjustable settings that the Sony did not have. I got mine on eBay without the remote for around $230 and found the remote on Amazon for $10, was well worth it.
Make sure your HDMI cable can pass at least 18gbps.
The Xbox series X will support Dolby vision later next year.

Where did you get it from? I could use a 4K player for 50 dollars lol
The lock up issue was easily solved via a hard reset and has not returned, nor have any other issues. The player's Youtube app also supports HDR.
Much better. Better picture, with less grain, faster, and better upscaling of non UHD discs.
Xbox is the much better value though, due to everything else it can do. If all you care about is disc playback then the Sony easily tops it, but I wouldn't purchase one over the X1S unless it was $100 cheaper.
Source? Everything I have read and watched so far says differently.
Yes, this was using Premium Certified cables less than 6ft in length.
