People actually still getting this tv even with the 2.1 issues.....Wow. EEK!
Not everyone is a gamer. The picture is the best bang for your buck in an 85" tv. The closest QLED is the Samsung Q80, which is 3000 at Best Buy on Black Friday.

Found another wall mount - seems like a very good deal. Any feedback?

From an engineering perspective... I'd avoid this one. I know it claims 132 lb capacity on some sites, but the design is clearly inferior.

Notice how the extendable linkages ("arms") are only supported on one face vs. both faces on some other mounts. There's no way I'd mount a 100+ lb TV with this design.

Compare to these designs where the arms are supported on both top and bottom faces:

I've seen the Q80T on sale this week for $2600, and it's around $2600 on the Samsung site with the employee/school discount thing, so I think the price will come down on that one.. but I don't think it'll get close to this sale.

How is this (MW Mounts 42" - 90" Full-Motion TV Mount) from costco? They are cheaper than Sanus

It's not worth buying a mount solely based on price. Because some of them are a pain to work with.

I recently bought a Peerless brand (and they have a decent reputation) for this 90CH tv and I was not happy with the sturdiness of it. And the way the tv mounts on the arm is a pain in the ass. I'm returning it.

I'm buying an ECHOGEAR mount like I had before. Great price $90 for a great product.

Completely agree. The design is weak with that one arm. No way I'd put a TV over 50 pounds on that thing.

JANKY!

This is a HUNDRED pound tv. It could kill someone. Cheaping out on a mount is not worth it.

I have faith in Sony. I have always bought Sony TVs (as my primary tv). Probably always will.

The problem seems minor and I think Sony will fix it. I'm also not much of a gamer.

This is my fourth $2000+ Sony TV purchased since 1999. None of the first 3 have had problems.

In fact the Sony 65 that this 85 is replacing will be going in the bedroom.

Anyone have any recommendations for a TV stand for this TV. I do not have place to mount and I need a stand. All the stands that I am watching are not deep enough to hold the stands which stand at a little more than 17". TIA

This has gotta be one of the longest SD threads ever Smilie

I have received this tv but it's still in the box.

Despite paying for the white glove service, the guys just plopped it down and started to walk away.

I was like "whoa guys"

"What?"

"Don't you set it up ?"

"If you want"

"I have a wall mount ready for it, will you lift it onto there for me? I'll screw in the brackets, all you have to do is lift it."

"No we can't do that"

So I just said fark it, you can leave.

I'll get my $20 back from Costco.

Selling point for some. I care more about the 5 year warranty and 85" size. I don't play games.
Ditto. Tv of this size and quality with 5 year warr for this price is awesome.

I've had extremely bad luck with TVs the last 10 years failing. What brand has the longest warranty?
