I'd wait I think there's a $50 rigid shop vac on the home depot black friday ad. For only $20 you get a trusted brand in the shop vac market. While I don't think hart is bad per say since they are owned by TTI, the company that makes Ryobi, Rigid and milwaukee. It's a relatively new tool brand.

I don't have this, but I do have a Vacmaster that I bought 3 years ago that looks really similar:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/produ...UTF8&psc=1

And it's honestly kind of terrible. I know the reviews are good but it's just not a good vacuum for any kind of shop use. Suction is really disappointing, Hose is too small to attach to most tools without a series of adapters. I know the vacmaster I linked has a smaller motor and a slightly different hose design...so maybe I'm off base and this anecdote isn't useful. But personally I would save your money and get a Ridgid or ShopVac brand vac with a standard size hose. These brands are well known for a reason and if you're looking specifically for a shop vac instead of a normal vacuum then you're probably looking to use this in situations where power, reliability, and compatibility may be important.

Is there a significant difference between brands? Just bought the $40 craftsman 5hp vac from ace hardware from the other thread.

went to craftsman also. check out this video, not exactly about these two models, but craftsman seem much better.

I love project farm's videos, always unbiased and no sponsorship. I'll be seafoaming and using Lucas oil stabilizer on my car to get rid of valve tick just like he did in his other video.

EDIT: Just finished the entire video and am now very very confident we made the right choice in choosing Craftsman. For the price and quality, it's an absolute steal compared to this Hart one.
