The prices for Geek Squad Protection have also been slashed. They are the only ones to cover burn in. If you get a burn in and they can't replace, they will issue a gift voucher / store credit for the NON DISCOUNTED PRICE ($1800 for 55" and $2500 for 65").

Warranty is 25% of the item cost. Do people really think they have a 25% chance of burn-in? If 25% of TVs were burning in, LG would lose all of their reputation

I had a LG OLED C8 which had its panel just recently shit the bed. It was after the warranty expired and LG wanted ~$2,000 to swap out the panel and power unit. Other things can go wrong above and beyond burn-in

People love to use anecdotes to justify paying 1/4 more for extended warranties. Retailers love it too, because it's nearly pure profit for them.
Do you guys pay for the tv and warranty outright or use a best buy credit card? I'm trying to figure out how to pay for this and would prefer doing it over time rather than up front, but I dont want to keep adding new credit cards.

Did you have an extra 1 year extended warranty from a credit card as well?

I had heard LG was replacing the panels free of charge as a one time courtesy up to 4 years after purchase - you may want to contact them again see if you get a different rep. This was due to burn in issues though
I bought the 55" last week (getting my $100 price adjustment today) and when I registered with LG they offered 3 year warranty for $148. It doesn't cover burn in but I'm not worried about that. I'll be protected for 4 years from other issues so I'll take that.

I currently have my projector financed on my Best Buy store card so for the TV I just paid with rewards points ($160), gift cards ($400) and put the rest on my Best Buy Visa and paid it off. I'll get another $50 or $60 in rewards points back as well.
What are the odds this TV drops some more before BF..still waiting for Best Buy to post their ad, this is the tv that I want but with sales tax would be 1484 still kind of steep
