They download tons of movies from the internet in 4k. A lot of the guys I know that do this don't even watch half of what they have stored.
Data hoarding is a disease, so there is not necessarily reasoning always for storing data, lol. I mostly have my own video/images/work/computer stuff backed up in the core of my data, but it's nice to have the room to download fun stuff. It's also common to see certain things eventually get wiped off the internet completely so those people's archives are helpful at times.

this comes to 14.5 for …probably BF is gonna be around 13 bucks at least? Experts plz suggest wait or buy?
This is the BF sale. Unless BB is just having a bad season, i doubt we see it for less. The cheapest it has been is $180 right before COVID hit. It years past it was great because ebay seemed to run % off coupons all the time and sometimes they would line up with these WD drive sales from BB. Now ebay never has any good coupons.

1TB is a lot of data to lose,... Backup is always important. People have been saying "X harddrive is alot of data to lose" since I was buying 20gb drives.
sucks to buy 14tb of space, only to have to buy another 14tb of space, just to assure the safe keeping of the original 14tb of space.

I already shucked them and got rid of the plastic cases. I have them in my Synology. Too late.

It's always been the case if you wanted a backup though no matter the capacity or price.

Does this drive cycle down or is it constantly spinning?
Mine spins down in my pc. I know when I go to use it I have to wait a few seconds for it to "wake up". I think there is a program you can download that you can change this setting if needed. Not sure if it is a WD program or a 3rd party one.

Backups of backups of backups. Redundancy at its finest.
What if the drive crashes?

Anyone shucking the drive who is simply going to throw the enclosure away, and is in the Minneapolis area, I would be interested in picking up 1 or 2 of these enclosures FOR FREE to keep out of the landfill.

Offering no trade
Zero dollars
A full dollar less than $1

Hopefully that is now clear and complete while no longer being concise ;-)

Thanks much

Scott2armstrong at g m a i l.com
Actually, great question, can these enclosures be used with any SATA drive? Or is it specific to WD?

They're now limiting it to 1 per customer. It was 5 per customer earlier.
