SHR always uses one drive with the largest capacity for parity, so putting one 14TB in won't get you anything more than what the Synology has now. You will want to buy at least two 14TB drives. Replace one drive, wait for SHR to rebuild, then repeat with the other new drive. You will end up with 2TB more than current. If you were to replace all four 12TB drives, you would end up with 6TB more than current.
The golden question, what's inside?

Extended returns in effect if you're on the fence.

Purchases made October 13, 2020 through January 2, 2021 have an extended return period through January 16, 2021
These won't get lower. BB does this every year, they offer the BF pricing a few weeks ahead of BF and then again at BF. I buy their BF special drives every year and upgrade both my servers and sell off the drives from the year before. It's the exact same scenario every time. This year it's the 14TB. Last year was the 12TB, 10 before that and 8 before that.

I wonder if the 16 or 18 tb drives will be on sale on BF. Right now they are out of stock but are on best buy's site. I bought one of these but thinking of waiting to see if a better deal hits on BF for the bigger drives.

The rate drives have been going the past few years and this past year in particular, my guess is this 14TB is the best cost per TB we'll see. May get lucky with a 14TB in the $170-$180 range but I doubt the 16TB's will be anywhere near $200. This is the safest bet so far. With the return policy you may as well buy these, leave in the box, and see what comes next.

Imagine that! BTW 2 days for UPS is November 11.

I've got DS918+ with 4 x 8TB WD Red. Right now using 50% storage, wondering if it's worth upgrading. In order for this to work I would need to get 4 x 14TB drives? I am wondering if I can sell the 8TB WD Red to recoup a chunk of the cost. Are these White drives inside these? Any difference between these and the Reds?

Used hds have poor resale value... maybe 50% retail if you are a shrewd salesman. Also I'm guessing that it will take you at least a year to use that 50% of remaining storage by which time we'll be here talking about shucking 20tb drives. Bottom line, there are probably many better ways to spend your money than needlessly increasing your storage.
