This one or the acer 32" for $155 at walmart??? Think that one starts nov2-3.... Suggestions??
They really couldn't be more different. This is a higher tier 24" IPS gaming monitor, while the other is an entry level 32". Really depends on your needs.
Is 1080p IPS 24" good enough for productivity? I'm looking to get a monitor that I can use for work and gaming. And i don't want to spend over $400 for a high res monitor with high refresh rate.

It wouldn't be for me, unless I paired it with at least one more monitor... but to each their own.... everyone has different requirements.

Maybe you should just get 2 of these?
I would definitely use this with another monitor but I'm wondering if the picture quality is good enough. Not sure if I should be looking for a 1440p instead. I hear that 1080p is fine at 24".

Yes, 1920x1080 should be fine at this size unless one is a "snob" and accustomed to super-sharp text on 4K monitors.

1440p is to 2020 what 1080p was to 2010. Sure, 1440p and 1080p was around before those dates, but it's only now going mainstream. 4K under 32" is still too tiny for my likes and requires way too much GPU power.
Just saw a Lenovo 1440p @ 32" for something like $180 yesterday too.
Still, this monitor looks decent. Great for a kids budget gaming PC and/or wanting to try a high refresh rate monitor.
