I randomly came across this set while searching at Lowes.com. I haven't seen it posted here but seems like a good deal for what looks to be all XRs (except maybe the sander). From what I could tell maybe these are the previous model year XRs.

Includes:
1/2" XR Hammer Drill (DCD796)
1/4" XR Impact Driver (DCF887)
7-1/4" XR Circular Saw (DCS570)
XR Reciprocation Saw (DCS367)
XR Oscillating Multi-Tool (DCS356)
Random Orbit Sander (DCW210 - not sure if this is XR)
2 x 4.0Ah Batteries
Charger

The sander doesn't appear to be XR when you google the model # (which you may want to add part #'s to the description.)

This definitely looks better than other $499.99 home depot deals floating around. Was a no brainer and I pulled the trigger as soon as you posted this. I have the fun or waiting until Nov 2 or 3 to return my dewalt deal to Home Depot.

There is of course cheaper sets of Home Depot Dewalt Atomic Series tools (there is a killer deal for 399.99 4-tool set where you can get 2 free tools, and can either keep the XR bare-tools or choose to return those to get $200 off essentially), but as I mentioned in another post, the Atomic Series in those other deals have enough poor-quality reviews scattered on the internet (including home depot's own site) (ie - not enough power to do basic tasks) for those who like to just buy once and be done with it, or not be afraid that your drill can't put a 3" screw into a wooden fence.

Bought and repped.
Too many Dewalt deals I don't know which one to pick. I'll probably end taking too long to make up my mind and end up not picking anything.
They only make 1 20v orbital sander and it is XR brushless. Good deal on the set for sure.

Curious why they going 4AH batteries with the sets now? Cost savings maybe?

my mistake, you're right, it is XR. Everything in this is XR. Killer price for this level of gear.

Maybe with XR, they're being generous and giving 4AH now instead of 2AH. It varies a lot across the other deals currently out (2 2AH, vs 2 4AH, vs 1 2AH and 1 4AH), but I'm not complaining.

You'd think economies of scale to provide just one battery type in most sets, but the tooling and assembly lines for all the different types already exist and economies of scale may not matter as much, so you have a good question for rhyme or reason. Maybe Lowes has better negotiators and was able to wrangle 4AH batteries into their kit.

Almost every 2019 XR Brushless kit came with 5ah's. They have to be penny pinching since the 4ah and 5ah are practically the same size but less capacity.

I'm joining the ranks of cancelling the HD order for this one. Better tools. Retailers are really starting early to get that black friday dollar, I'm already hitting my budget Smilie

out of curiosity, did any of those kits go on sale around this price? if so, then I guess I missed out, but then again I'm not a pro, just a prosumer.

Nevermind, slickdeals search to the rescue...Looks like there was a slicker deal or two from acme tools, albeit a little bit more expensive, but better batteries and an extra tool

https://slickdeals.net/e/13624426-dewalt-20v-max-xr-li-ion-7-tool-combo-kit-acme-tools-574?v=1&src=SiteSearch

Now you got me holding out that maybe Acme Tools or someone else has something even better in one month.

How much chance is there of getting an equivalent Ridgid Octane brushless kit similar to thos for a similar price? I am deciding between which brand to jump to, all Ridged or all black and yellow.

I contacted Dewalt for the country of origin for this kit. Not sure if it's accurate for here is what I was told:
DCD796 - made in the US - DCF887 US - DCS570 China - DCS367 US - DCS356 Mexico - DCW210 Mexico

Are these brushless? Been looking for a new toolset and this looks promising.

Yes, all brushless, at least looking at the pictures in the link provided.
