1090p will never happen
Thanks! If only it wasn't 720p.
A quick mini review after using this laptop for approximately 1 hour

okay, i got one to see if it might somehow dethrone my old laptop as king, knowing there was no way a cheap laptop like this could do it, and it didn't, but i must say, for the money, it's not bad!

going from windows s to regular windows was super easy, and didn't cost anything.
the touchpad and keyboard are decent. i'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. (mind you i'm used to using a more expensive laptop with a glass trackpad and nice backlit keyboard)
the processor, memory and cpu all go together to make a fast smooth experience.
no backlit keyboard. for $350 i'm not sure if it's realistic to expect a backlit keyboard, but man, it would have been nice to have one.
the screen - this was the big knock on the laptop, and here's my opinion: putting it next to my laptop and watching the same youtube video, the difference is easy to see, the colors are sort of washed out on this Ideapad, someone said it was a TN panel, and not a nicer IPS panel, and although i didn't fact check, just by looking at it, it looks like a TN panel... as for,the lower resolution, as a person who's used many different laptops, the low resolution is a plus and a minus. the minus is of course that there's less on the screen because it's less pixels. 1366x768 is this ideapad, compared to my main laptop which is 1920 x 1080. this means that it only displays 1366 pixels of info across as opposed to a higher resoluation screen which might have 1920 pixels across. as an older person, i actually don't mind seeing less on the screen most of the time, because since there's less on the screen, it looks bigger as compared to a higher resolution screen.

almost forgot, the touch screen, it's decent, and it's nice to have a touch screen, but for a bigger laptop i think you don't use it that much. i forget where i read it, but the smaller and more holdable the screen, the more likely you are to use the touchscreen. the bigger the screen, the less likely you are to touch it.

my overall thoughts are that for $350 it's really not a bad laptop. i'd recommend this laptop for kids or someone who maybe would just be watching youtube or playing games, a casual user. I wouldn't have any trouble recommending this to most of my family who pretty much check email, watch videos, and it's mostly for casual entertainment use. Also, maybe for someone who uses the laptop casually, but has an external monitor to plug in when they're doing serious work. also, to note, the sound is not great, it gets a decent volume, but it's not especially rich sounding. overall, for the casual user, i give it a 8 out of 10.

for people who work with the laptop in the daytime sun, it's not a super bright screen, so stay away. also, if you're working with spreadsheets or alot of data, where the lower resolution of the screen displaying a few less rows or columns is going to frustrate you, stay away

I wholeheartedly think this is a tremendous value!

This laptop is perfect for someone who:
- desires a touchscreen
- a good processor that will future proof it for a few years. An i3 is quite anemic.
- needs a 15 inch screen
- 8GB or more RAM (12GB will future proof this laptop a bit)
- Fast 256GB SSD for speed and future proofing.
- Doesn't know what 1080p or 720p means or doesn't care.
- For a student who needs to do virtual learning
- For someone who wants more than what chromebooks offer.
- For someone who wants to save money and only have a $400 budget.

Great real world verdict.Well done. wish there's more of that in every single popular thread to cut down some redundancies.

Can you do the same for the popular $300 laptop deal from Best Buy??

Really? What phone CPUs are better than 10th gen I5? I really dont know so asking.

I cant imagine a phone running windows 10, some games or some work/school apps etc without struggling.
No need to wonder plenty of cheap chinese small form factor arm laptops using windows 10. You can buy in shenzhen for $99. Yes runs games too.

Yeah ... That is my concern. I want it to be portable. Don't want to have it always plugged in.

how is the specs of this laptop compared to this:

Dell Inspiron 15 i5558-5718SLV
Intel Core i5-4210U Processor
15.6" 1920x1080 TouchScreen LED Display
8GB DDR3L Memory
1TB Hard Drive
1x HDMI, 3x USB
Intel HD Graphics 4400
4-Cell 2750mAh Battery
Windows 10 Home 64-Bit

Would the lenovo be an upgrade or downgrade? except for the 12gb memory.
thanks.
Screen is worse, but this Lenovo is way, way faster.. I'm not an expert on battery life but it should be much more power-efficient also. The Dell probably cost a lot when it was new, so this Lenovo might "feel" cheap. But the important parts are fast.

Which is better for mom in law? This or the i3 for $300? She mainly uses for web and emails. It would be connected to an external monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Or would there be a better option?
