okay, i got one to see if it might somehow dethrone my old laptop as king, knowing there was no way a cheap laptop like this could do it, and it didn't, but i must say, for the money, it's not bad!
going from windows s to regular windows was super easy, and didn't cost anything.
the touchpad and keyboard are decent. i'd give it a 6 or 7 out of 10. (mind you i'm used to using a more expensive laptop with a glass trackpad and nice backlit keyboard)
the processor, memory and cpu all go together to make a fast smooth experience.
no backlit keyboard. for $350 i'm not sure if it's realistic to expect a backlit keyboard, but man, it would have been nice to have one.
the screen - this was the big knock on the laptop, and here's my opinion: putting it next to my laptop and watching the same youtube video, the difference is easy to see, the colors are sort of washed out on this Ideapad, someone said it was a TN panel, and not a nicer IPS panel, and although i didn't fact check, just by looking at it, it looks like a TN panel... as for,the lower resolution, as a person who's used many different laptops, the low resolution is a plus and a minus. the minus is of course that there's less on the screen because it's less pixels. 1366x768 is this ideapad, compared to my main laptop which is 1920 x 1080. this means that it only displays 1366 pixels of info across as opposed to a higher resoluation screen which might have 1920 pixels across. as an older person, i actually don't mind seeing less on the screen most of the time, because since there's less on the screen, it looks bigger as compared to a higher resolution screen.
almost forgot, the touch screen, it's decent, and it's nice to have a touch screen, but for a bigger laptop i think you don't use it that much. i forget where i read it, but the smaller and more holdable the screen, the more likely you are to use the touchscreen. the bigger the screen, the less likely you are to touch it.
my overall thoughts are that for $350 it's really not a bad laptop. i'd recommend this laptop for kids or someone who maybe would just be watching youtube or playing games, a casual user. I wouldn't have any trouble recommending this to most of my family who pretty much check email, watch videos, and it's mostly for casual entertainment use. Also, maybe for someone who uses the laptop casually, but has an external monitor to plug in when they're doing serious work. also, to note, the sound is not great, it gets a decent volume, but it's not especially rich sounding. overall, for the casual user, i give it a 8 out of 10.
for people who work with the laptop in the daytime sun, it's not a super bright screen, so stay away. also, if you're working with spreadsheets or alot of data, where the lower resolution of the screen displaying a few less rows or columns is going to frustrate you, stay away

This laptop is perfect for someone who:
- desires a touchscreen
- a good processor that will future proof it for a few years. An i3 is quite anemic.
- needs a 15 inch screen
- 8GB or more RAM (12GB will future proof this laptop a bit)
- Fast 256GB SSD for speed and future proofing.
- Doesn't know what 1080p or 720p means or doesn't care.
- For a student who needs to do virtual learning
- For someone who wants more than what chromebooks offer.
- For someone who wants to save money and only have a $400 budget.
