A year ago my mic advice would have been to spend $50 on a GLS ES-58 and a Behringer UM2 and get superior audio quality with the potential to upgrade to a better mic as needed. But the prices on mics and webcams has been completely nuts lately so as long as this thing is better than a built in laptop mic you're probably getting good value here.

Being slightly better than a built in laptop mic seems ridiculous to have such a contraption hanging around.
I have this same mic under the name of a different manufacturer but the hardware identifies as NW-800 in windows.
I've also picked up a different cheap mic and while that can capture me from across the room, it also gets every other noise in the house, which isn't ideal.
