Sure thing. Just spread some rep if you can Wink

Calibration was aiming for 6500K with gamma set to 2.2. So I calibrated with a brightness of 40, contrast 50, black boost 5. Color 2.2, color temp set to User, R Gain 48, G Gain 47, B Gain 47.

It's said you can adjust brightness without affecting the temperature or colors much. Rtings calibrates at 100 nits actually (for those that don't know).

Uploaded the .icm file and the DisplayCal report post-calibration.

I can try to calibrate again under the Warm color temperature setting. I think it should be more universal, and at 6600K it's already close to my target of 6500K. Just keep in mind the whole procedure takes roughly an hour, so give me a day or two if anyone is interested.

Slickdeals site doesn't allow me to upload .icm files, so I uploaded to Google Drive.

I looked into this and general consensus is that this WILL NOT work. Most Costco employees online are saying they are told not to honor price adjustments for Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals and sales for items purchased beforehand. Of course, you can risk it but there isn't any guarantee you will get the price adjusted (most said if the item goes out of stock, Costco will definitely not price adjust).

This deal is super tempting but I will play it safe and hold out to the 30th just in case a similar Dell monitor goes on sale.

Edit: also found out that even using the Costco Visa Rewards CC will not qualify your purchase for the price rewind. It only applies to other stores' prices, not to Costco.

im also debating between this Acer and Dell 3220dgf that was just delivered to my door. Im not lucky with Acer and never got it in stock but wondering about your general opinion on this two monitors, if you would have to keep just one which one would it be and why?
It is not an easy decision. I would keep the ultrawide and I am more productive with it and gaming on an ultrawide is the way to go/ The HDR is better on the Acer as well. They are both smooth in gaming and work with Nvidia gsync.

Just ask yourself do you like ultrawide monitors or not. Then that should make your choice easier.

Thank you, i guess i will try to get Acer from costco, if it ever come back in stock for me, and compare both side by side. I connected Dell yesterday and played with it for an hour or so, its nice but i have to say i wasnt blown away. I was expecting more of WOW coming from 1080p 27in LG monitor.

Really need a top tier graphics card to get the most out of the Dell as it can do 165hz. I top out around 120 with the 1660ti.

The Dell seems smoother over the Acer, but not by much.

On the request of a few users on here, and also because I also wanted the profile myself Here's the ICM file for the Warm Profile @ 2.2 Gamma. I calibrated @ 35% brightness which gives 162 nits.

The post-calibration report highlights an out of spec tolerance between the measured vs. assumed target whitepoint, but it can safely be ignored since the test assumes I'm calibrating under a 6600K preset, but the Warm profile only measures 6570K. I'm actually pretty happy with this profile as it has a tighter tolerance over the first calibration with the colors and grays and even follows the gamma perfectly at 2.2 all the way through.

I'll also be attaching the pre-calibration results tested against sRGB and Adobe RGB. I also retested my previous calibration profile just do double check. The file name is the same as the previous (EI342CKR), but with the time stamp of 2020-11-16.

I'll upload the reports and ICMs on my Google Drive. I'll also attach on this site as a zip. 2 ICM profiles (User + Warm), 2 pre-calibration results, 2 post-calibration results for the User ICM profile, and 1 post-calibration result for the Warm ICM profile.

Oof. Definitely tired, and don't plan to make any more promises .

As a final note, I recommend you guys check out DisplayCal. It's suppose to do a better job at handling these color profiles. It is freeware and safe. Also recommend you guys check out Rtings for other in-depth reviews of monitors (to give you an idea of what you're looking for).

Cheers!
Hello there! Could you please share the raw values used to produce both color profiles? I'm using a tool called ddcutil [github.com] to read/write over DDC/CI but I have no way of tranlating the profiles into proper values.

For users not running WIndows: Even with HDR enabled, and with many values greyed-out in the built-in menu, every value can still be manipulated using tools like ddcutil after the fact. Also checkout ddcui [github.com], a user-friendly frontend for ddcutil. look around

The Ugly:
- This could be the real deal breaker. Every time I enable FreeSync on a game, the panel brightness flickers like hell. It makes it unusable. After troubleshooting, I believe I either have a defective monitor or a crappy DP cable. So I ordered a new DP 1.4 cable from amazon and will update this once I try it.

However, even if the new cable solves the flickering issue, suddenly this doesn't feel like such a great deal ($350 + $30tax + $xx monitor arm). Considering the general cheap feel of this monitor, $380 feels more like the right price than a super deal.
U can see my prev posts in this thread and I've posted tons of screenshots. I'm running a AMD system with 5700XT on displayport @144hz ...not a single issue from day one.

Also using custom color profile in the AMD setting with increased saturation, AMD sharpening set to 80% and the upscaling feature enabled. Colors pop.

However, make sure your display cable is VESA certified. Don't buy $10 chinese knockoffs from Amazon...I bought the Insignia one from Bestbuy for $24 and it works perfect.

I'm using the stand and really do NOT see any issue, per say. I've owned mine for 3 weeks ago and not once has the monitor fell, moved, etc. I never really notice the "cheap plastic" bezel either.

For the price, I mainly care for the h/w and the electronics inside and they do the job extremely well. Gaming on a ultrawide monitor is heavenly.

Also have this issue. The flicker is limited to Freesync while in-game.

The new cable will most likely not solve your issue. From what I've found online, the flicker is a result of sudden voltage changes as it swings between its low and high refresh range. The higher the refresh rate, the brighter the monitor (and vice versa). For me, this flicker is most noticeable when I'm in the menus of certain games, but I also notice it in-game depending on the current scene.

Sucks, but it seems to be a general issue with VA monitors and Freesync (and maybe even G-sync), so doubt a replacement monitor will solve your issue either.

Do you guys do 125% or 150% for text upscaling so fonts are easier to read? or do you leave it at default of 100%?

no fix for that then? was planning to get a 1.4 display port, might stick with ivanky 1.2 if that won't be a problem.

People with the flicker issue, make sure you update the monitor drivers from Acer's website. That fixed my issue.

BTW, I upgraded from a 32 inch Dell gaming monitor. I love this Acer monitor. It looks great on my wide screen glass monitor stand from Amazon =). So happy with this purchase. Make sure you buy a VESA certified DP 1.4 cable.
