Excellent price. I got mine for $189 earlier this year and kicked ADT ($55/month).

I've had it for 6 months now and only had one failed sensor and Ring replaced it for free. I also paired the outdoor Solar HD Cam (it integrates with this set).

Had tripped alarm when I was out of town and Ring customer service quickly called me within mins. I knew it was false as I went into the Ring app on my phone and I monitored the camera and didnt see any activity outside my house. Ring sent my local police to my house . Then called me back in 30 mins staying police confirmed it was a false trip. Ring rep reset the alarm.

Satisfied customer for $10/month.
If you buy this, do not under any circumstances put the Ring yard sign or window sticker up. Get the ADT sign and stickers and put them up.

I actually used to have this and since its wifi based, smart thieves bought a wifi jammer and knocked it out and broke in while I was at work.

And honestly, if possibly always hardwire sensors.
I imagine the base station was on wireless? So they jammed both the 'regular' 2.4GHz/GHz wireless, as well as the 908.42MHz Z-Wave band?

I suppose when advertising (yard sign) they would come prepared with equipment for both, but tough to pull off with the mesh network and proximity of the devices, and you are notified if any devices (sensors) disconnect) - they must of kept up a continuous, strong signal to keep all wireless spectrums in use jammed.

Good information to share and always a nice tip with alarm yard signs. A good idea, if you are able, would be to plug the base station in directly with a network cable.

For others to know, there is a cellular backup (AT&T) built into the base station, so if you are on wireless and have the Ring Protect/monitoring active ($100/yr), then the cellular would kick in and continue to provide the Internet and alert access to what is going on with the sensors and overall system - unless the event of extremely prepared thieves to also bring a jammer for yet another frequency range for the cellular.

Yes. They only had a limit of one. Ring also had a special 14 piece for 200. Not sure if ring will put it back. But there are few ways to get extra discounts from ring buying directly.
it was actually 160 with extra discount

Ring had given an extra 20% discount, see below.

"To show our appreciation, Ring is proud to offer an exclusive 20% discount on select Ring.com purchases to military, veterans, first responders, students, and teachers."

True. Unfortunately I don't qualify for any of those. I think they have for senior citizens as well. Have you heard a anything about their Black Friday deals. Wonder if they'll have the same.

We've had our ring alarm system for a little over a year now and it's been fantastic. It's the best deal around. We came from brinks and were paying $30/mo for years. Really glad we switched. Customer service has been top notch too. All sensors have been extremely solid. If you are looking for an alarm system it's a no brainer.

Installation is really simple. I installed several sensors on windows, two doors, base station, and several of their other sensors in a few hours. Had one small issue but called customer service and they were quick to help. This was on a Saturday afternoon too. We have two doorbells too and they have been great. Been through crazy weather extremes and they haven't missed a beat. We have older version 2 doorbells. You do get the homeowners discount. Insurance company doesn't look at ring any different than adt. It's a monitored system same as adt or any other. Good luck! Tell your wife it's definitely not a toy lol 🤣

Thanks for the help! Yea can't beat 10 bucks per month. I bought a nest setup but ended up selling them off. Also do you have any recommendations on cameras for outside. I want it on NVR and probably ring doorbell.

Are first generation keypad and motion sensors compatible with second generation? I want to upgrade my previous generation system but I also want to use old sensors.

So easy even a caveman can do it! (no kidding!). Just make sure to pair up the sensors before...I never used the screws and used just the 3m tape and it's been mounted for 6 months.

And yes, u get home owners ins. discount as well. I have AAA and just called them and gave them the police permit # (I'm in CA and for house alarms, we require a yearly permit).

However, while the base station will work Wifi as well (connected to your router), I HIGHLY recommend running a Cat6 cable and get it connected wired.

With WiFi, the door/entry sensors worked fine but my outdoor HD Cam would lose connection every few weeks (or phone app would give a "blank" video). Ring customer service recommened wired connection. I ran a cat6 thru the wall and now it's flawless.

To think I wasted $54/month on ADT last 7 years ....the kicker is when I cancelled ADT, they bloody deactivated the whole system remotely (even though I technically I own it). But it was a old system and Ring is tons better.
