Ring Alarm 14 Piece Kit available on Amazon for $199.99
Excellent price. I got mine for $189 earlier this year and kicked ADT ($55/month).
I've had it for 6 months now and only had one failed sensor and Ring replaced it for free. I also paired the outdoor Solar HD Cam (it integrates with this set).
Had tripped alarm when I was out of town and Ring customer service quickly called me within mins. I knew it was false as I went into the Ring app on my phone and I monitored the camera and didnt see any activity outside my house. Ring sent my local police to my house . Then called me back in 30 mins staying police confirmed it was a false trip. Ring rep reset the alarm.
I imagine the base station was on wireless? So they jammed both the 'regular' 2.4GHz/GHz wireless, as well as the 908.42MHz Z-Wave band?
I suppose when advertising (yard sign) they would come prepared with equipment for both, but tough to pull off with the mesh network and proximity of the devices, and you are notified if any devices (sensors) disconnect) - they must of kept up a continuous, strong signal to keep all wireless spectrums in use jammed.
Good information to share and always a nice tip with alarm yard signs. A good idea, if you are able, would be to plug the base station in directly with a network cable.
For others to know, there is a cellular backup (AT&T) built into the base station, so if you are on wireless and have the Ring Protect/monitoring active ($100/yr), then the cellular would kick in and continue to provide the Internet and alert access to what is going on with the sensors and overall system - unless the event of extremely prepared thieves to also bring a jammer for yet another frequency range for the cellular.
I was just at Costco, saw it, bought it, and figured I'd do the same and get the price adjustment later. With the enforced stay-at-home/business restrictions starting up again in my area... this gives me something to do at home!
I am too embarrassed to say how much money we gave to ADT from 2000 to 2019. But I can say this is a great system. I think it is the best from my research but you can do your own and compare.
We have expanded the initial sytem and now have 3 carbon monixide/smoke detectors, spotlight camera to cover the back yard, 2 water/freeze sensors to warn of basement or dishwasher flooding, doorbell camera and the initial 14 piece kit.
You can't beat the $100 a year monitoring charge which is less than 2 months of ADT.
Also, it took me three times longer on the phone with ADT to get them to disconnect my service than it took me to physically install and turn on my Ring. Even though I was on a month to month service with ADT, with 19 year old equipment, they made me PAY to disconnect from them. They are a bad. Disreputable company.
After an attempted break-in with our regular ADT system, we switched to Ring. We need more sensors so I am going to buy this one. However, I was wondering if there was a way to hook this up to my ADT system and use those window monitors?
By the way, I like the motion detectors. I have it set to alert me when the sensor is activated. I can see if someone is in the house. When the people tried to break in, they attempted to break a patio door and walkthrough. Since we didn't have our motion detector on (we have a dog and were home) they would have been able to break in without tripping the alarm. The detectors alert me immediately. Our ADT system is older so the police come out before you know anything. The cops came out and said that the criminals have a plan so that they are in and out before anyone gets here. Because we had great surveillance, they caught the guys. (Ring cameras)
What's the return period for this? Is it 90 days? May be purchasing a new home in a few months...and not sure if the new home has security. If not, i would like to have this system.

Same here! Not as long but still embarrassing as we've been with ADT for about 10 years now. I set everything up over the weekend and ran things alongside the ADT equipment just to make sure that all is okay and that my wife is really okay with switching over. We both like Ring and the cost definitely beats ADT... plus we were already invested in Ring with 4 cameras.
Heads up for those switching from ADT... I called them to start cancelling and they require 30 days cancellation notice. I was not aware of this although I didn't even try to read through any of the old agreements. So, now they've got me for another prorated amount in to middle of Dec. Plus, they put my alarm in TEST mode after the call without my knowledge. I only found out when I went in as I started removing some of the ADT sensors and I couldn't arm the system with the leftover motion detectors.

Satisfied customer for $10/month.
I actually used to have this and since its wifi based, smart thieves bought a wifi jammer and knocked it out and broke in while I was at work.
And honestly, if possibly always hardwire sensors.
