For limb cutting I use the reciprocating saw with a pruning blade. Works great. Of course, chainsaw has its own usage.

This is a fantastic chainsaw for limb cutting. Pair with a 4ah or 5ah battery. Lightweight and easy to operate.

Disclaimer.... I don't have this particular saw, but just my experience in using a chainsaw vs sawzall:

It really depends on what size limbs you're going to cut and how often. I've cut 6" limbs with a sawzall before, but it was so slow the saw turned itself off so it didn't overheat. That was with a fresh blade. The blade is much more likely to get pinched due to the small kerf as well.
If you're cutting a few 3" and under limbs once or twice a year then a sawzall should work fine. If you're cutting bigger limbs more often then it's worth getting a saw like this if you're already on the Dewalt platform.

I picked this saw up a few months ago. It worked for the small tree that I had to chop up. Nice for small things in the city. The one big difference that I notice is trimming the small branches off it is more likely to bounce. It might just be due to how light it is. With a normal chainsaw I usually don't even feel the saw hitting anything. I am referring to the small 1/4-1/2" branches. Still happy with the purchase. This deal looks to be $30-$40 cheaper than I paid.

I have this and have used it a good bit for clearing brush and trimming trees. No, it's not a gas powered Stihl, but it is handy and if you keep the chain sharp it cuts very well. I also have a Dewalt sawzall with pruning blade and this cuts faster. I've seen a few complaints the bar oil leaks but I haven't had any real problems with that. Certainly less mess than a gas powered chainsaw. I recommend this, especially if you already have the Dewalt 20v line.

I love mine.
Throw it in a backpack for clearing trails.
I've even used it for trees around the house.

Yes, it has leaked bar oil on occasion.

Just bought this XR Chainsaw; first chainsaw purchase, and I will use it this upcoming weekend to take care of some large limbs I've had sitting around for a few years. Should go well with the 4A batteries from the XR 6-pack tool deal from lowes.

I will read the literature included with this, but is there recommended oil and/or steps to keep the chain sharp?

I'll have to google around about the oil leaks, so I'm at least aware of what to look for incase this happens to have that issue.

Now if they could just get some of the lighting accessories down to around sub-50, I'd buy even more into the dewalt family.
