Interesting deal Op. it looks like it's got a chonda (Chinese Honda clone) motor on it. I've had good luck with those in the past and parts are everywhere. Seems like a decent deal
The axial pumps can be serviced and I take the pumps off of the unit and store indoors during the winter. People frequently let their washers run without washing and this damages all pumps, but the axial pumps are more fragile.

Hi,
Is this strong enough for house use - patio, driveway etc ?
I think driveway cleaning requires the most power. It is strong enough to do your driveway (and will aptly power a disc style driveway washer). You're going to want something in the 3000 psi range and this fits the bill.
If you're not doing a driveway, something in the 2000 psi range (go electric) will work for simple cleaning of patio furniture, windows, etc).
Can you explain what that does and why it's important?
I have both , i can chime in.. I have the water shotgun (triplex) purchased from an acquaintance who used it to run his own business, he fell on hard times and I bought it for a great price... I also own the black max with the cheap pump from direct tools outlet for about $145 was labeled as "certified used".. they both have given me exceptional service (literally one pull starts) over the last 15 years.. If I were to do it all over again.. I would save the $1500 and buy another cheapo when given the opportunity.. the cheapo is just as dependable and reliable as the commercial one.. granted I do take very good care of them each and every time I use them I winterize them even if i plan to crank them back up 2 weeks later.. I know its over kill but i keep my engines spotless.. I can take pictures and show vid clips of each for the negative nancys and SD police. peace

Thank you so much, going to look up winterizing now!

I had a Troy Bilt model for ~ 10 years that gave me no issues whatsoever - kept it in the basement in the winter, always started on 1 pull. Then I upgraded to a higher pressure/GPM Simpson model this year, granted it was around double the price. Sold the TB unit for $250.
I think people WAY overthink these types of situations or they abuse their equipment - triplex pumps are basically commercial equipment - if you pressure wash your house every week all year round you might want to get a more durable unit but for the vast majority of homeowners, spending several times the $$ for a triplex is probably a waste.
How well and quickly a pressure washer cleans is more a factor of the flow (GPM - Gallons Per Minute) than the pressure. A "high pressure" Pressure washer won't clean all that great if it doesn't have decent GPM's.
A decent commercial/industrial pump will cost more than the $298 this pressure washer costs. A good triplex belt drive pump will most likely give you the best service life because the pump usually runs slower than the motor but you are going to pay up front for it.
All this is great if you run a pressure washing business! For around the house stuff there is a lot to be said for cheap electric pressure washers like the Ryobi 1600. They don't have near the cleaning power but will usually get most common around the house jobs done... they will take longer though.
Hot pressure washers are FANTASTIC on greasy things like tractors and engines. The hot water melts the grease as it is blowing it away. Very pricey though not to mention big and will need separate diesel or propane to heat the water. Because of their extra complexity they will usually require more maintenance.

A seemingly industry "standard" is "Cleaning Units[simpsoncleaning.com]" = GPM * PSI, although I wouldn't say that the same number of CU's are as equivalent regardless of if it's comprised more of GPM or PSI.

I have a Husqvarna mower which has served use well...However, that pressure washer has 172 1-star reviews and they are some pretty upset people. I wouldn't buy that.

This 100x. People on here always want the "best" models of everything, but the truth is most people don't need that level of equipment for personal use. My dad abuses the crap out of his 10 year old troybuilt it's still going strong and starts on first pull. Bottom line is, unless you are running a pro business, this washer is better than enough for average person

I read some of the reviews of the OP's post and they complained about a short, almost-unusable soap system.
