Why does Lowes never tell you what size batteries are included?

Those are 1.3 or 1.5 AH's batteries. No fuel gauge.

I have the hammer drill version of this (778). It's a great drill. I occasionally have thin bits spin in the chuck, but that might be user error. $99 is a good price with those baby batteries. It's nice to keep those light batteries attached the tool for quick grab and go. I need another drill/driver, but I think I'm going to eventually go more compact like the atomic.

It might be regional. It's $99 in the DC area. Check other stores?

This is basically the same drill as the Atomic, but in a larger body. It's an older design that they managed to slim down later on. I suspect you're probably better off buying the Atomic drill for the same price at HD, same power but more compact https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWAL.../308067442

The Atomic is kind of growing in popularity for being more compact with the same power as their equivalent. I need to find a retailer that actually ships free to Hawaii and so far, since they have a distribution warehouse there, it has been Amazon.

needed to replace my old Porter Cable 18v NiCD bulky driver/drill set (can't even find the battery in NiCD or the Li-Ion Set)

So I got this instead, it is still $99 at my Lowe's

Looks like the Milwaukee and Makita on sale are a better deal given they have a 2AH and 3AH batteries respectively.

Don't go by the higher value of voltage rating. Rather than me explaining it, here's one of the many articles that makes it clear to understand how they are not different and just a matter of how you advertise your nominal operating voltage Vs peak/max voltage rating.
https://www.protoolreviews.com/ne...wer/17024/

Although both are very respectable brands, Milwaukee is generally rated higher in professional reviews. Not sure, if that really matters in normal DIY or homeowner situation though. The higher AH rated battery matters though in terms of keeping juice longer for the device.
