Same question. For me the 4 smaller base plates are probably worth the extra $10 but I am more considering the differences in the 1500 pieces. How do they call this "Classic"? It comes in 20 colors and BLUE fire!

I'm sick of not being able to match my colors with the new Legos. Sell me a box with 1500 pieces in ONE color--that's what I want! Or at least just stick to white, gray, black, red, blue, and yellow. Then I can make things that match.
