Same question. For me the 4 smaller base plates are probably worth the extra $10 but I am more considering the differences in the 1500 pieces. I think having some wheels in a set this large is a must. I don't see any in this $30 set but see a few in this $40 set https://www.walmart.com/ip/LEGO-C...s/72868947
