I bought one of these during the last sale for $969. it is a phenomenal TV for me. i don't game, just watch movies and stream YouTube videos.
Haven't heard if Amazon or Costco will be running the same price. I plan on getting another one for the bedroom. I called Best Buy and asked if I buy now ($1399) if they would refund the difference during their black Friday sale. they said no. does anyone have any experience to the contrary?

I was worried about availability on 11/22 so I just went ahead and bought a 65in at full price, hoping for a price match. Worst case I guess I can just do a full return.
Samsung tends to update software to simply plug in their ads - that's usually the first icon on the Apps row. User has no control. Every time when they update, the audio through HDMI to receiver from a connected PC breaks, you need to reset Audio Options in the TV. I've heard LG does the same
Also, Samsung tends to restrict audio pass thru, which is annoying if the TV has no decoder for a particular format. LG is the same. Samsung insists in their video format HDR+ which already shows age.
SONY - they keep their TVs updated for a long time. They have a lot of codecs, support audio pass thru more flexible, have Dolby Vision. SONY tend to have more buggy firmware
I myself, decided that will not touch Korean brands - it is just a matter of business mentality, they always do something to screw you for extra money, which ruins the user experience. Sad, because sometimes their hardware is great.
I would keep the Sony, especially if bought at Costco with long warranty.
Luckily, my in-store pickup window is still active on the 22nd. So I'm going to see what I can do, thinking about buying it at the normal price...returning it instantly...then instantly re-buying it at the sale price.
We'll see how it goes lol.
