RTINGS Info for those interested: "The Samsung RU9000 is an overall decent 4k TV with a VA panel. It delivers good picture quality with its high contrast ratio and wide color gamut, and fast-moving scenes look clear thanks to its fast response time (native 120hz) and black frame insertion feature. Its low input lag makes gaming feel incredibly responsive and it has variable refresh rate support to help minimize screen tearing. Unfortunately, its HDR performance is limited by the low peak brightness and lack of local dimming. Additionally, it struggles to overcome glare in bright rooms and its sub-par viewing angles make is less ideal for wide seating areas."

Really had bad experience with SquareTrade warranty, which is owned by AllState. If they use the same tactics to deny legit ext warranties, this warranty by AllState may just be as good as nothing.

I bought a 75 Inch from Costco. Picture quality is not the best. This is edge lit not direct lit. So I see light bleeding and uneven patches in dark screen. Colors are very artificial compared to my 11 year old Vizio. After calibration colors seems too dull for my taste. I was on the fence but decided to keep it because it came with six year warranty from Costco. I would recommend to pay membership fee and buy it from Costco for extra warranty.

Though it doesn't get real bright, it is brighter than other 82" TVs in this price range. Viewing experience is better in a dark, dim, or moderately lit room... instead of a very bright room.

Edit: Someone had to play the straight guy... so I thought I'd do it.Wink

Good TV! I have the 65" and it's nice. I'd still favor the LG 82" at this price due to WebOS and HDMI 2.1 though.

I echo warmail's feedback. I got the 75inch version from Costco and tried my best to like this tv for almost 2 weeks. I switched from an 8 year old Sony 1080P tv to this assuming the picture quality will be great but it was the opposite. The TV is not bright and I felt it was only suitable to watch in a dark room setting; not good for day time viewing. The colors didn't look natural and the glare was horrible. The interface, OS, remote etc. are all very good but the bottom line I expect in a TV is picture quality and this TV doesn't deliver. Returned it and got the Sony X90 from costco and the picture quality of the new one is in a whole different league.

RU Series is Samsung's budget line. I got the 58" for $350 Walmart deal a while back, and happy with the picture quality.
