Yes. This deal is hackable. You can choose to return the battery or the tool for a prorated refund, or you can pick store pickup on the item you don't want at another HD and never pick it. up. That item will get canceled after 7 days and you get your prorated refund on that item.
Prices of some of the tools after battery return:
Router: $78.27
Angle Grinder: $81.84
Jigsaw: $88.38 <— equivalent to half off original price
Ryobi has LOTS of tools & claim their 18v batteries will on MOST of them & they say they don't plan on changing battery size/battery design for years to come (and I tend to believe them).
Ridgid makes great cordless tools. And a bonus in regard to their batteries is that they supposedly warrant the batteries for "life'' (supposedly the only catch is that the batterys must be registered by the owner on their website).
Also, I think (perhaps someone with experience can deny/verify this) the owner must incur the cost of shipping the old/dead batteries to Ridgid. So basically, for jumping through a few hoops (and a handful of $ for shipping) it seems new batteries won't ever need to be purchased.
And in regard to Milwaukee tools, they are seemingly the most expensive... BUT they also seem to have the largest selection of cordless tools.
DeWalt also makes many quality cordless tools & were, if memory serves correctly, were one of the first to offer a cordless drill MANY years ago. They are also pricey (like Milwaukee) but are always a solid purchase.
I could write more buy I'm typing this on a painfully small 4 inch phone screen. : (
If you're a DIY guy then you can't go wrong with any of them. If I had to start into a new system I would go with Ryobi just because the add-on cost is much lower and I'm not using these tools professionally. A good example is my old pneumatic Brad nailer met an untimely death a few months ago, I'm heavy into the Milwaukee M18 line so it's a no brainer to get the cordless M18 nail gun. That gun goes between $250-$300 depending on sales, the Ryobi is usually just over $100 tool only and $150 with the bigger battery. Just something to consider if you're starting out fresh.

When you view the cart it shows 37% off each item. I just want the multi-tool so can I return the battery kit for $124.53? (I have way too many batteries with all these deals)
Also they jacked the price up from 99 to 119. It was a "new lower price" before the deals started.
Just got off the chat with an agent - they took $19 off the order to make the Orbit Sander truly free. You just need a lot patience to get routed to the live agent.

How would you get it down to free, and what did you say to convince the agent?

When you go to this link[homedepot.com] there is an offer on the right hand side that says Buy 1 Get 1 Free (see attachment). Click on the "10 Items" link and the window will popup (in chrome it comes from the right hand side) with all 10 items. The orbit sander is one of them.
I honestly begin to think this is only a good deal for certain free tools as 2 battery and the bag can sometimes be gotten for $150-160 elsewhere. The Angle Grinder seems to be one of the most popular choices although for the life of me I can't figure why would I need it. The Orbit Sander I only need to use for car polish.
