2x4 trim?? A framing nailer would obliterate any trim on Earth.

Got this for 196 back in February, so yeah with the return this is a pretty great price if you return the battery. I have both this and their 30 degree framing nailer and love them.

I'm doing trim and base and I bought the ryobi used and that has been the mvp imo. I'm sure this would be much better but man the battery 18 gauge is so useful. haven't dragged in the compressor all project. only a few jams in several hundred nails. still... you'll need a nail set for bigger projects

Do you lose anything by going with the 30*? I only want to get 1 nailer and I'm leaning towards the 30 for trim work.

Can you buy online and then return the battery in store?

Here's a good question...

Why does Dewalt's equivalent 18 gauge battery nailer need to be significantly bigger than this?

No, you can't. It gets bought as a single SKU online.

This uses brads which is good for trim work. The 30 degree framing nailer uses, well nails, so not as good for trim Stick Out Tongue. I got a 30 degree framing nailer as I wanted something that could be used in tighter places and I'm a sucker for these tools...

I've found myself using the Brad nailer on a lot of home projects, and for sturdying up stuff like ikea furniture so it's been really nice. Just don't ever put your hand anywhere behind where you are pinning as these Brads could take a weird path and get ya (Adam savage has a good video on using a pin nailer)

If you have a pro account, check your email. I had a $25 pro reward added to my account for being a member. If you do, go to the app, pro account, perks, have them scan the barcode and enter the pin that's shown on screen.

I bought a Makita 18ga air brad nailer and it's pretty bad at driving nails constantly. About 1 out of 10 will end up with either the nail head sticking out so thinking about this nailer.

The 30 degree nailer is for framing with 3 inch nails, this could work for trim work but the nails would be harder to hide and given the size, possible cracks in the trim material. The nailer here is a brad nailer which fires very thin nails (almost like thick pins) into the wood. Once correctly set, they are very hard to see and paint would cover up most nail holes.

The tool has a handy adjustment knob for controlling the driving depth of the brad and I typically use a piece of the material I am using to test with until I'm happy. So far it has been pretty consistent as long as you are holding it the same way and applying similar force behind it when pinning.

I bought in store and returned the battery 2 minutes later. Total price $165ish. It won't work online.

I got the 30° when it first came out and loved it. I ended up exchanging it for the 21° because thats what everyone uses on all the job sites I've been on and I got tired of bringing my own nails.
