I bought one of these during the last sale. It was great while it worked. It turns out that there is a common issue with the display randomly going white.

NewEgg would not accept my before-30-day return so I had to contact Westinghouse directly. It has been a nightmare dealing with their support staff. They have not been very helpful or knowledgeable. It has been over a month since I sent them my monitor for repair. I asked for an update last week and got none.

If I could go back in time, I would save my money for a better brand.
Update: I finally heard back from support this morning. They are issuing me a full refund (I am not getting the monitor back). Supposedly I will get my money back in 20 days from now. I had high hopes for this monitor but this was just a waste of time and money (they will not refund the tax I spent).
Yeah... I'm not buying a monitor from Newegg. Even if they finally got rid of their pixel policy. They still have return shipping and restocking fees...

Should be good for watching movies and TV shows, right? The base is hideous and gaudy, but it has VESA support.

What are our thoughts on this Westinghouse versus the very similar Acer curved 34" UWQHD deal at Costco? The Acer is currently out of stock, so could this be a good alternative for people trying to get their hands on this type of monitor?

This is an ultrawide, so you'll get black bars on the side with this monitor.

Anamorphic movies in 21:9 will have no bars

I got ultrawide no black bars ever. All games support this resolution.
This isn't entirely true. Most newer games support 3440x1440, but there are still many that don't.

Most notable off the top of my head is dragon's dogma and the elder scrolls series (oblivion, skyrim). They all require mods to stretch to 3440x1440, and usually there are still a handful of issues.

Yeah older game support is hit or miss. Newer stuff from AAA is pretty consistent as 21:9 is a common aspect ratio for gaming.

Don't think so as I can't find any kind of documentation stating HDR. Only seeing wide color gamut (WCG).
