I have one of these. It's great. Was fairly straightforward to install in a 2010 Lexus.

Word of warning - I discovered this after not driving for a few weeks during the pandemic early days - if you have parking mode set up (you have to tap into an "always on" and an "only on when car is on" fuse) - you can drain your battery, even if you have the voltage block thing set up.

I am in Chicago. I used to have Anker battery dashcam on my previous older car and it did fine in extreme cold temp. Battery dashcams are bad at extreme hot temp but seems to be fine in cold temp.

These ones being capacitor shouldn't be any problem for any weather!

It shouldn't. Two of the vehicles I have dash cams hardwired on are newer vehicles with warranty still. If you use the proper hardwire add-a fuse-kit with Viofo's hardwire kit and tapping into non-important fuses to be safe, you should be fine. The fuses I use for parking mode are power outlet #1 or #2 and OBD for battery wire. So long as you do it correctly and don't hook it up to a sensitive circuit, ie: airbag module, BCM, etc, you won't cause any harm and warranty stays intact.

I am not DYI, don't even know how to properly hide the wires myself. I will have to do it at bestbuy. The car dealer can make any excuses to not honor warranty saying your dashcam killed the battery or this or that!

Ok so uninstall it before you go to service the vehicle at the dealer if something were to happen, which I think is a very low chance if u do the hard wire properly.

The A119 V3 uses a Sony STARVIS sensor which is the best on the market for night time recording. The A129 Pro uses a different 4K sensor which does not have as good performance. Remember that unless the sensor gets larger the amount of light for each pixel is reduced when you go to the higher quality so you will get worse low light performance.

Has this happened to anyone else? I have an Aukey which shuts off when it detects the battery is getting low.

This viofo piece of crap works only sometimes. you have to manually turn it on when it doesn't. Bought it because of the hype. second I own and last one

Your instinct is correct. I own this exact same model, and it only works intermittently. The first viofo I owned I had to return because it also had issues. stay away from this Chinese junk
