You can buy it later - but within 30 days of the purchase.
I was in on the $699 Nitro at Walmart. I purchased quickly, didn't add the plan. I made several attempts to add after purchase, calls, trip to the store, no luck for me.

Thanks, $649 and it has GTX 2060 and 10th gen i5, seems too good to be true. How is it compared to the $699 Acer Nitro one? This one seems like it has only one ram slot and no backlight keyboard, any other catches?
The CPU is a bit faster than the Nitro's, but the Nitro had secondary storage 1TB SSD and 16GB RAM

Looks like a very good value deal for the money:

Of course, it'd be great to have an i7 or a Renoir but at this price...for these specs hard to beat. Throw in additional RAM and you're in business.

Thermals might be an issue though per the review. Some prior comments mentioned the Asus TUF, and that has reported thermal issues as well.

I bought the HP gaming laptop for $449. I want a gaming laptop for my son to play Fortnite and Minecraft. Is that one sufficient or should I return and get this instead? Any insight?

Here is a problem for me: 8 GB ram is expandable, but if you open the case, it will void your warranty. So I will be stuck with the 8GB at least for a year if I don't trust the laptop quality. If i buy walmart warranty, does it get voided as well if i add one ram in it myself? Any thought?

So what is the consensus here? Is this a good laptop for college? Don't care much for gaming.
Requirements are bright screen, ssd, back lit keyboard.

No discussion on the brightness in the description. Anybody knows?

Does this manufacturer specifically say that opening the case voids the warranty? HP, Dell and Lenovo all allow opening of the case to make upgrades without voiding the warranty.

Did you go to your Walmart Order page? All the eligible purchases are listed there and there is a button next to them saying "Buy Plan", and it says how many more days you have until you can't buy the plan (have 30 days from purchase).
