EDIT: Below is the public folder I created on my Google Drive, let me know if anyone has any issues accessing. Click the link and then the "Download" button on the middle of the screen.

EDIT: FYI - Installing the Chipset driver (the "chipset-10.1.18383.8213-public-mup" folder in the download above) takes care of all 4 of the items in Device Manager that required a driver.
EDIT: On 11/17 Gateway Support also provided me with the Gaming Center app (rebranded as "Gateway Control Center" on factory image), for RGB control, etc. which I also uploaded to Google Drive:

If you're gonna get a laptop with an i5, you might as well save money and buy one with a slightly less flashy GPU since you're not really getting the full performance out of it anyway.

This one seems to have the Webcam at the extreme bottom of the screen, which is not very flattering if you plan to use it for video calls. The battery life is also not going to be great, but comparable with other gaming models. Other than that, as long as you add an 8gb stick of RAM for dual channel (or just buy a 16gb kit while RAM is cheap now) then this will be a great all around laptop for the price.
Gateway 2000... vowed to use its army of 2,500 telemarketers to find out all it can about the customers who buy its custom-made personal computers.
What's the modern day version of an army of 2,500 telemarketers?

On one hand, this seems like a killer deal for the specs as it stands. On the other hand, I feel like the OverPowered may have been better value for money with an i7 and 16 GB of RAM at $799. It had a 1060 which arguably compares to the 1660 but there was no RTX at the time.
I have to say though, I tried a lot of laptops over the past couple of months, up to a $3k Razer Blade 15 with OLED. All got returned and I came back to my trusty Walmart laptop. Maybe there's something wrong with me. Maybe it's that good.
everything is fake. News is fake. Corona is fake. The cake is a lie.
