Anyone try using an external monitor via the DPs? Curious if it supports gsync and what refresh rates it can output.

Thanks, $649 and it has GTX 2060 and 10th gen i5, seems too good to be true. How is it compared to the $699 Acer Nitro one? This one seems like it has only one ram slot and no backlight keyboard, any other catches?
Confirmed with mine that it has 2 RAM slots, I'm running (x2) 8GB sticks in dual-channel mode right now. Keyboard is indeed backlit, with 4 brightness settings, and is also RGB which you control from within the Gateway Control Center app.

I ordered a Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable, it should be be here within the next few hours, I'll be testing exactly this. I can confirm that via the HDMI port, I'm pushing 144Hz to my external monitor without issue.

Alright I'm officially sold... cable just came in, and I can confirm that G-Sync IS SUPPORTED!! Confirmed on both 120Hz and 144Hz modes on my external display. I suspect any Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort cable would work, but this is the one I ordered the "AmazonBasics HL-007271 Mini DisplayPort to DisplayPort Cable - 6 Feet". I'm assuming the graphics mode won't matter, but in the BIOS I opted to set the switchable graphics to the RTX 2060 only. So right now the Intel UHD 630 on the CPU is currently turned off via the BIOS. There's multiple benefits to having this level of control, and I'm very surprised it's even allowed in the BIOS on such a budget machine.

Also, I used the Mini DisplayPort connector directly next to the HDMI connector. Again, very impressed with this thing!

Sweet! Thanks for the rundown.
Besides mini DP, the only other adapter I need is a headphone/mic unsplitter. I guess it offers more flexibility with that the laptop has two separate ports but my headset has a combined one.

Its worth it at that price but obviously 649 was a deal. Even the build quality is relatively impressive.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I have 2 of these sitting unopened, waiting for any other Black Friday specials that might pop up. My concern for this notebook is the lack of support page and no driver support. If anyone can find it, please provide a link.

I emailed support on Saturday asking them where I can find drivers, so I'll let you know what they say.

While you are at it, can you please also help to check with them on the void warranty sticker in the back? I want to install a double RAM, but afraid the warranty being voided. Would that void the warranty if I add it myself? Thank you.

Are there any important drivers you couldn't get through Windows Update? I'm going to do a fresh format soon, possibly today.

I usually save an Acronis image of the OEM drive but figured eh, I'll give it a shot. Windows will automatically pick up most drivers and so far haven't noticed any issues with function controls (brightness up/down, volume, keyboard backlight, etc.). BUT, I can't seem to find the Gateway Control Center software, so I can't get to any of the RGB settings or the other settings/monitoring within that app.

For me, the following items show in Device Manager as needing drivers:
-PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
-PCI Device
-PCI Simple Communications Controller
-SM Bus Controller

I also tried a guess-and-check with drivers from the EVOO LP5 and LP6, but they didn't pick up on any of the 4 missing items above, and some just wouldn't install. The brand "Overpowered" seems to have similar design and model numbers as EVOO (LP-1, LP-2, LP-3) so they might have drivers that work, but I'm still searching...

Yep, same here! (see attached screenshot). No Gateway control center and exclamation marks in device manager. A couple of the THX apps (one for audio and one for video) are missing as well. The video one actually loaded a color profile for the display that claimed to be 'THX tuned'.

Regarding Device manager, a quick search on a couple of those exclamation marks seem to point to 'Intel chipset device software' and 'Intel management engine driver' installation packages. I'm going to leave it alone for now as things seem to be working fine so far.

The response from Support, it sounds like drivers should be available soon-ish?:

Thank you for contacting Gateway USA support.

We apologize for the inconvenience, the drivers are not available on our page currently as we are updating our website to enhance our user experience. If you could help us with the specific driver that you are in need of, we would be able to assist you with it.

Also, let us know if you facing any issues with the unit. Thank you for choosing Gateway USA, have a great day.

Edit:
I replied back with links to a shared OneDrive and Google Drive folder, asking if they could upload the drivers/files there then that would be greatly appreciated. I told them that "the laptop had a virus and reinstalling Windows was necessary", as reasoning for requesting the drivers. If they upload them, I'll post a link here for everyone to download them, unless they fix the drivers page on their site before then.
