I wasn't sure at first when this deal was alive, but I just got one with option to return if not good.

Well....this isn't the best but my teenage kids tried it, and they slowly started acknowledging that the laptop was actually a pretty good deal!!!
Intel i5 was the only downside but that RTX.....WOW!!! Especially in this price range!!!
It has two slots for the SSD and two slots for DDR4. Empty space right next to the battery but no wires or connectors were present.
Screen good! ~120hz, IPS. RGB keyboard was another plus.

I should have gotten another one for my business but better deals might pop up towards the end of the year.

I haven't had any issues with the i5 keeping up, I tested some of the more demanding titles that I play (Ark, New World, Atlas) and I've pegged the GPU in all instances, and the CPU still had plenty of headroom (~50% utilization).

As for the business, that's actually why I purchased this. I own ALTO Technology Solutions and am an IT consultant and sub-contractor. This laptop doesn't at all scream "gamer" and if you choose the white color for the RGB keyboard it looks entirely like a standard laptop. There's very few laptops on the market right now that offer that look, that have RTX series cards in them or allow for gaming. I can go from working on my QuickBooks and not giving myself a headache trying to use a 60Hz screen, to then connecting to my external monitor and mechanical keyboard to fire up a game, to then closing up and going onsite for a service call.

Thank you everyone for the feedback. I have 2 of these sitting unopened, waiting for any other Black Friday specials that might pop up. My concern for this notebook is the lack of support page and no driver support. If anyone can find it, please provide a link.
you could try these as it's basically the same laptop rebadged.

I usually save an Acronis image of the OEM drive but figured eh, I'll give it a shot. Windows will automatically pick up most drivers and so far haven't noticed any issues with function controls (brightness up/down, volume, keyboard backlight, etc.). BUT, I can't seem to find the Gateway Control Center software, so I can't get to any of the RGB settings or the other settings/monitoring within that app.

For me, the following items show in Device Manager as needing drivers:
-PCI Data Acquisition and Signal Processing Controller
-PCI Device
-PCI Simple Communications Controller
-SM Bus Controller

I also tried a guess-and-check with drivers from the EVOO LP5 and LP6, but they didn't pick up on any of the 4 missing items above, and some just wouldn't install. The brand "Overpowered" seems to have similar design and model numbers as EVOO (LP-1, LP-2, LP-3) so they might have drivers that work, but I'm still searching...
try the Maingear Vector 2 (2020) drivers that laptop is essentially the same thing.

Are there any important drivers you couldn't get through Windows Update? I'm going to do a fresh format soon, possibly today.
Alright, got the drivers from Gateway Support! The technician actually provided me a DropBox link, with a single .zip file that is over 4GB in size. I'm downloading now, here's the link he provided me, which appears to be a public link. Not sure how long it will stay live for, so I'm uploading to my Google Drive now and will post the link once it's finished.

GWTN156-3BK Full Drivers Download:
https://www.dropbox.com/s/da6p59o...3.zip?dl=0

EDIT: Below is the public folder I created on my Google Drive, let me know if anyone has any issues accessing. Click the link and then the "Download" button on the middle of the screen.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1...sp=sharing

EDIT: FYI - Installing the Chipset driver (the "chipset-10.1.18383.8213-public-mup" folder in the download above) takes care of all 4 of the items in Device Manager that required a driver.

EDIT: On 11/17 Gateway Support also provided me with the Gaming Center app (rebranded as "Gateway Control Center" on factory image), for RGB control, etc. which I also uploaded to Google Drive:

Happy to help! I saw your other post where you had concern about their support (I share the same concern). So far... I received multiple responses from them within only hours of the business day starting. I didn't get the sense that I was working with someone overseas, and the fact that they provided me with the drivers file took me by surprise. I don't want to jinx it, but so far so good.

I read more into the warranty piece too, and it seems that many are in agreement that Walmart's warranty coverage through Allstate is actually pretty good. If that's true... then the overall picture here is shaping up quite nicely. I can see in my order history on Walmart's site that I can add 2 years of coverage for $59 or 3 years for $88.

FWIW, I'm an authorized Dell Reseller and my cost on a 2 year warranty with accidental coverage (just like Walmart's) was $145.16 for my G3 3590 (roughly $209 if you tried to purchase it as a consumer). Granted we're comparing Dell to Gateway/Acer/EVOO but just to give you an idea.

I tested out Fortnite and results were better than the Acer Nitro 5. Temps were in the mid 80s C versus low 90s for the Acer, so it seemed to thermal throttle less. CPU utilization was 100% and GPU was 60-70%. Overall the gateway seems like a keeper.

I also undervolted the CPU by the max allowed, 50mV, in the UEFI settings. I couldn't change the voltage in the Intel XTU application.

Too bad there's not a greater voltage range allowed.

For those who have already received the laptop, would you please confirm if it really has a 120hz display? Really appreciated.

Got this laptop today and looks quite good! Fired up Genshin Impact and runs it perfectly smooth on all high settings at 1080p

Couple things though... The webcam is at the bottom of the screen so it's a bit awkward. Also the Gateway Control Center fan control isn't tweakable. This means when in game mode, the fans do get quite loud. Has anyone found a third party fan control app that works? Tried MSI Afterburner and looks like a no go

Thanks Tony!

Does anyone know if there is a better way I can transfer the file from the Google Drive to my Google Drive, without having to download 4GB file then upload it?
