Last gen CPU, but otherwise specs look decent for the price. I would personally upgrade the HDD though.

How does a RTX 2060 in a laptop, compare to the desktop one when used in VR gaming? (looking to upgrade from my 1660ti)

I got all excited at first when I saw Ryzen 7, but then saw that this chip is just 5% better than i5 9300H

Expect about a 25% loss in performance between RTX 2060 mobile and desktop versions. You might only see a marginal boost from your desktop 1660ti (~10%).

I'd say it's a slightly worse deal than the Nitro 5 at $789.
Specs are almost the same, except Nitro has more storage, and lower price, while this one has a tiny bit better processor but less storage and higher price.

This one has a 144hz screen compared to the 60hz one assuming you mean the $800 model. I'm not sure what the difference would be in terms of brightness/gamut.

Note: This is also missing a USB-C display port which may be important to some users.

I have this laptop, and have been persistently dealing with lag issues with any BIOS update (307-309). Literally my mouse cursor moves slow and basic applications lag. This is a common issue that seems to only be resolved by reverting down to the original BIOS version 305. Hopefully this will be fixed with a future update, but it's been a real pain in the ass.

No wifi 6, weak proc, no usb-c/dp, and only HDMI for video out.. hopefully it's hdmi 2.2 or you won't be getting high refresh rates at high resolutions, not worth imo, overpaying for the 144hz it appears.

I recently got this deal and I am super happy with it. Runs any games that I've thrown at it so far. Everything has been pretty smooth. The only complaint I had was an issue with the track pad not working well, which was a 3 second fix. If you haven't had any type of gaming PC for a while, it's a great buy. I love it!

Seems to me it's a hard price to justify for those specs when there have routinely been laptops sold at a similar price that are newer and better. This should really be clearance priced with that processor.

Either this RTX2060 with older slower Ryzen7 3750h with better screen 144hz -- The screen, GPU & Price < $900, & RGB keyboard are the highlights of this deal.
