I can see that you have initiated a trade in request. First the trade in kit will be deactivated if you don't activate your new device.
The Pixel 4a device doesn't have any active promotion. That means your trade in kit will be deactivated and you will not get the value for your old device.
The trade in kit will be shipped separately and usually delivers after your new device delivery.
There is no estimated time for the delivery. Once it is shipped, you will get an email and can take 5-6 working days.
when does it get shipped relative to the shipment of the phone? 1-2 days or a week after?
That would be really hard to say because once the shipment is done, you will get an update via email along with the tracking details.
The order for your new device is showing as processing and the estimated time for the delivery is Dec 3, 2020.
The trade in kit is currently showing a pending status and once it is shipped, you will get an email.
We're currently experiencing high demand which is causing a delay of a few days in some of our estimated ship dates.
We're working with our shipping partners to ensure your package is shipped as quickly as possible.

I am preparing to migrate my S8 to a Pixel 4 from another deal, and I see this as a great opportunity to swap out my S8 for something I wouldn't mind handing off to my wife (so that I could then pass her S9 onto another family member).
