Purchase Pixel or Samsung 5G phones through Google Fi website and get a high trade-in value for your old Samsung/Apple Phones.
You can essentially exchange your old Samsung S8/S9 phone for Pixel 4a at no cost.
Trade-in Values:
S7 - $275

How long did it take you to get the refund after they said they will issue it? Mine said 2-3 days and today is the 3rd day and I haven't got it yet
It took me a week to get it and 2 follow ups with CS
Still not entirely sure they're going to refund the full amount back to my payment method instead of fi credits. I'll have to keep an eye on that yet.

Now I'm not sure if they are having so much demand for the phone or they think this is am amazing deal that I got and don't want to pursue it. Not sure what is happening.
Reasons: Not Factory Reset (yes it was because i had to google how to reset it!) and not correctly listed device. Well weird since i have the receipt from when i bought the phone i was trading in from amazon and its exactly as listed in the estimated value email from google fi. That and the fact the phone said right on the back... s9.
I can only assume since I checked "other" as provider. It was an unlocked phone from amazon.
I got my refund in about a week! I'm very surprised this went so smoothly for me. $250 for a pixel 5, not bad at all

They have been pretty good about making things right.
Here's a spreadsheet which various people have used to track their trade-ins and I'm seeing a lot of successful recourse when the trade-in came back "incorrectly reported phone model"

Or, did you do it once into your phone and past the lock screen?
If you did the first option, it still has what's called FRP (Factory Reset Protection) Which happens to prevent stolen phones from being wiped and re-used this way. For them to consider it factory reset, you had to do it via the Android OS in the settings menus. (Or, employ some advanced trickery by flashing various OS images to the phone)

I was told by the support that if the purchased phone value is less than your trade-in phone value the rest will be fi credit not credit card refund.
To use your fi credits you can purchase another phone and finance it. This way it will be deducted monthly from your fi credits.
