This just doesn't really make sense now with the flexvolt deal going on at Home Depot. $199 for latest flexvolt advantage + newly designed battery and new charger. Unless you absolutely require a compact recip...

Not speaking for the price but the compact XR is more versatile imo. It's powerful and light weight. I have the flexvolt advantage reciprocating saw as well and boy is it much heavier. Also you cant insert the blade horizontally. Compared to the Compact XR.

Good points also. The flexvolt is definitely heavier. Having the battery, is useful for me because I can use it in other tools.

The bad with this one is the vibrations. When I bought it years ago, people warned about it and I thought they exaggerated. It will vibrate your arm off in no time. If you're using it all day and don't need to get in between studs then I'd recommend a different recip saw
