Was the $199 last BF a price mistake? This soundbar is over 2 years old now, and the price hasn't really dropped at all on the retail level except for 2 big sale ?

Sonos just beat earnings, stock is way up overnight. People are buying more Sonos speakers since they're home more often. No need to put them on sale when they can barely keep up with demand at full price.

Yes if you want to really make it right you need the sub it's that good/important. Add the rear SL when you can for full surround . Yes it's expensive so weigh the $1k$1,200 options

You can also opt for the IKEA Sonos speakers for a less expensive rear surround option. The Beam is fantastic and the sub just magnifies the overall experience.

In my case, I'll be doing a dedicated home theatre down stairs while this would be for an area where we do a lot of watching regular tv shows. So I'm just looking for something that has GOOD sound. Doesn't need to have boomy bass but I want it to have enough so it doesn't feel completely lacking. And I'm not willing to spend $600 on a subwoofer. Might have to buy this and try it out. I'm trying out got the LG atmos bar currently and it's pretty decent but might be overkill for the room.

Costco changed the starting sale date on the Sonos. The sale will begin this Sunday the 22nd and last until the 30th.

The Beam really benefits from a subwoofer. I'd say it matters more than additional satellites although those are definitely cheaper additions. But for most people, it's fine as-is by itself starting out.

Yeah it really can't be stated how much the sub does. Having to keep the sub in the Minus 5 sound alot should tell you all you need to know it moves

Bestbuy has the Sonos play bar returb for $379 much better sound than the beam IMO and more balanced sound if planning to use without sub. Beam has Arc, but play bar has IR sensor to use the TV remote.
