Doesn't matter, it won't deposit until March...
Do I need to set up the direct deposit afterwards and put in the promo again somewhere?

This is my only exposure to capital one and I must say it seems a little shady. When you have an advert that publishes get $400 for opening this account and doing xyz... and you click the link and sign up... you shouldn't have to worry about some promo code in an obscure box somewhere making or breaking your deal. My guess is they were hoping many would sign up and screw this up so they get a flood of new banking customers and not have to pay many of these out.
