Amazon warehouse is a solid place to find guitar deals. Picked up an ESP EC 256 few weeks back for under 300 bucks. Said good condition with multiple large blemishes. I got it and besides a slight nick on the back of the neck it looked great. No risk ordering from amazon

If you buy something rare and used, guitars will almost always appreciate. Like $50 every 5 years. So yeah you can play a guitar for virtually free as long as you dont chip the paint or damage it.

Only buy new if you need financing. You can buy a $1200 used guitar but only get 6-month financing aka $200 a month. Or you can buy a new $1200 guitar for 48 month like this week at MF, and only pay $35 a month.

I tried to get GC to price match Adorama on a Fender acoustic about 3 years ago. They gave me some made up story about a GC truck being hijacked and implied that's where Adorama got their Fender guitars and sells them so cheap. I just gave the guy the "are you eating funny mushrooms" stare and walked out. I played the guitar at GC then went home and ordered from Adorama and it arrived the next day. Fully authorized and completely legit.

All that to say GC may not price match.

The fact that the new street price on these is $699 means that, if you like the color, this is a no brainer deal. The "Player" series seem to be a better run of instruments overall than the previous "Standard" MIMs.

If I didn't have a house full of guitars and basses and an observant wife, I'd grab another Telecaster, as I play that guitar more than my Ultra Jazzmaster or my Vintera Strat (and others).

Ibanez Orange Burst for $149.99 off Amazon they have another Ibanez $199.99 as well. Next time. I just tired of buying fake china knock off and I have to schlapp it back to the store like kohl's Amazon returns. I was there Wednesday with 41-inch electric preamp acoustic garbage. I should have gotten a Taylor. I going with full electric I have anything I need... Just need the guitar not these add-ons that come bundle with the cheap guitar. This one Fender I've hear about them. If want something good you going to have to pay for it.

In my experience even though the price has crept up over the last ten years or so, the modern MIM Fenders are great quality for the price. I found no significant difference in playability between my MIM deluxe strat and MIA deluxe tele, although the MIA was setup better out of the box and came with a nice case. Also I've bought both a guitar and amp through Adorama with no issues.

anyone know how this discount works ?
I wanted to check if there's any other models that fall in this discount category, went back up a level to 'electric guitars' in the breadcrumb and even the fenders show $799 instead of the $519 and you can't seem to get the discount back unless you use the direct SD link.

Is there some sort of coupon code being applied ?

Decent price, but nothing unique here, and you'll probably keep itching to upgrade it. Honestly, just better off looking for a slightly used Vintera Modified Strat (50's or 60's). Nice 21 fret neck with vintage tint and vintage locking tuners, and sweeter pickups with more switching options. I just picked up a used 2020 Vintera 50's Sunburst for $630 shipped in mint condition, Beautiful instrument, and no desire to upgrade anything.

The "&=emailprice" in the URL is the special sauce that brings it fro 799 to 519. I checked several other guitars and a few cameras/lenses I was interested in, but didn't manage to land on any others with an active discount from this code. Not to say they're not out there, but Adorama has a big inventory.

You can see the discounted price by using the specific URL provided by OP.

This is the only player model they can advertise a discount for because it is unique to their store (and therefore, no other dealer will be forced to price match).

You might be able to get discounts on the other colors by calling the sales team, but you typically won't see them advertised for less than MSRP unless the sale is coordinated by Fender.

Considering a Fender Player Stratocaster HSS Plus Limited Ed for $599 because I like the color better but wonder what the differences are between the HSS Plus and this Strat and if they matter to a beginner?

Also any recommendations on an affordable amp?
