Mint mobile agent just told me that tomorrow will be a Black Friday sale for new members of buy 3 months get 3 free... But the device you're using cannot have been active on Mint Mobile for 91 days. So even if you order a new SIM or phone number it's the device you are using that will determine if you are eligible for the sale price.
So if you are using google voice and renewing with a new number the discount might not work.

'Make the most of your 3 free months by rolling them into an entire year of savings. Simply renew into a 12 month plan before your 3 free months start in 30 days and you can save $240.
To grab this offer, just log into your account and renew into a 12 month plan using the Renewal Credit we've added to your account.Plus we've given you an extra $30 to sweeten the deal. And we've recommended a plan just for you based on your average data usage.
If you decide not to take this offer, you'll still get your next 3 months free.'
So I paid $75 for my 3 month 12gig plan + $30 extra is $105.
If best buy keeps on have mint sim sales, is this a good offer?
What do you think of this offer for a 12gig 12 month plan?

If my understanding is correct, I could choose the 4GB plan for 12 months as my renewal and still use the full $105 credit towards that purchase? I'm basing my reasoning on GoodGod's post. That would be nice, since I have $90 in my wallet (from AmEx deal spend $90, get $45 credit), but I'm still not entirely sure since the $105 for renewing 8GB for 3-mo is not part of my wallet balance. If this is possible the numbers would be:
12-mo 4GB plan cost = $180
credit for 8/10 GB 3-mo free = $105 (use toward any plan at renewal)
wallet balance = $90
($105 + $90) - $180 = $15 wallet leftover (which hopefully covers taxes & fees)
When I select to change my upcoming renewal, I don't see anything confirming credits or amounts so I have not clicked "set as next plan".
edit - In the app (not desktop browser) I see a $105 renewal balance. Changed the renewal option to 12-mo 4GB and I see a credit of $105 towards the $180 cost, with $75 remaining. Opted to pay now. No fees added (IIRC paying through app avoids recovery fee?).
tl;dr - everything worked out as I hoped. Had $105 credit for 3 more months of 8GB (now 10GB) plan. Opted to renew at 12 months of 4GB plan for $180. Full $105 credit still applied, and $75 deducted from my $90 wallet balance ($15 remaining).
I tried web browser and app still see the recovery fee.โ

Since renewal credit + wallet balance covered full cost of plan renewal, that might be why I avoided the recovery fee. Not really sure.
(My $90 wallet load cost $92.26, which may have included some mix of taxes or recovery/other fees.)
But I have Google voice so I don't care what the phone# mint gives me
love you guys.

(late May for me, and many of us after the 3+3 deal)?
The best thing I've seen is from Ebay, like this $37 for 4 months:
Lycamobile-Preloaded-Sim-29-x-3-1-Extra-month-Free-4-Months-5GB-Per-Month-U
I'd rather have more data per mo (I got 35GB/mo for six mos in the Mint deal) than this 5GB plan, tho I don't really need 35.
