Just an FYI, this was posted yesterday on reddit:

Mint mobile agent just told me that tomorrow will be a Black Friday sale for new members of buy 3 months get 3 free... But the device you're using cannot have been active on Mint Mobile for 91 days. So even if you order a new SIM or phone number it's the device you are using that will determine if you are eligible for the sale price.

So if you are using google voice and renewing with a new number the discount might not work.
Unlimited Data: Unlimited means speeds will be reduced to a max of 128Kbps after >35GB/mo. or use of GB allotment for the remainder of the billing cycle. 1 month equals 30 days. Partial megabytes rounded up. Unlimited on handset and network only
Don't forget to stack it with referral code ๐Ÿ˜‰

I used a referral link from a friend to activate my account. The support agent told me that referral credit only works for purchase made on mint mobile website.
Wait, isn't the referral link supposed to be used when ordering online, not when activating?

Got this email to trade in my 3 months free for credit towards a 12 month plan:

'Make the most of your 3 free months by rolling them into an entire year of savings. Simply renew into a 12 month plan before your 3 free months start in 30 days and you can save $240.

To grab this offer, just log into your account and renew into a 12 month plan using the Renewal Credit we've added to your account.Plus we've given you an extra $30 to sweeten the deal. And we've recommended a plan just for you based on your average data usage.

If you decide not to take this offer, you'll still get your next 3 months free.'

So I paid $75 for my 3 month 12gig plan + $30 extra is $105.

If best buy keeps on have mint sim sales, is this a good offer?

What do you think of this offer for a 12gig 12 month plan?

You cant use the sim to add more months to your existing number. So Sim sales wouldnt really benefit you. I think taking the credit and gettign a 12 month plan makes sense. thats what I will do.

I bought my 8GB 3-mo plan from Best Buy in October, activated in early November, and also received a $105 credit for 3 months free ($35/mo for 8GB plan which is now 10GB). See first two attachments for what I see in my account.

If my understanding is correct, I could choose the 4GB plan for 12 months as my renewal and still use the full $105 credit towards that purchase? I'm basing my reasoning on GoodGod's post. That would be nice, since I have $90 in my wallet (from AmEx deal spend $90, get $45 credit), but I'm still not entirely sure since the $105 for renewing 8GB for 3-mo is not part of my wallet balance. If this is possible the numbers would be:

12-mo 4GB plan cost = $180

credit for 8/10 GB 3-mo free = $105 (use toward any plan at renewal)
wallet balance = $90

($105 + $90) - $180 = $15 wallet leftover (which hopefully covers taxes & fees)

When I select to change my upcoming renewal, I don't see anything confirming credits or amounts so I have not clicked "set as next plan".

edit - In the app (not desktop browser) I see a $105 renewal balance. Changed the renewal option to 12-mo 4GB and I see a credit of $105 towards the $180 cost, with $75 remaining. Opted to pay now. No fees added (IIRC paying through app avoids recovery fee?).

tl;dr - everything worked out as I hoped. Had $105 credit for 3 more months of 8GB (now 10GB) plan. Opted to renew at 12 months of 4GB plan for $180. Full $105 credit still applied, and $75 deducted from my $90 wallet balance ($15 remaining).
Did you avoid the recovery fee?
I tried web browser and app still see the recovery fee.โ€‹

No recovery fee for me. Renewed through app.

Since renewal credit + wallet balance covered full cost of plan renewal, that might be why I avoided the recovery fee. Not really sure.

(My $90 wallet load cost $92.26, which may have included some mix of taxes or recovery/other fees.)

Did not know about the way they do the renewal/crediting so I had bought a 3 month / 3gb plan +3 free. Only got $45 + $10 bonus for balance. 12 month offer for 3gb ends up 125 for a year, while good isn't great, so I'll just wait for the next deal and get 8gb next time. I'm on g-voice.

love you guys.

Does anyone have a similar 3 to 6 month deal for when this Mint deal ends?
(late May for me, and many of us after the 3+3 deal)?
The best thing I've seen is from Ebay, like this $37 for 4 months:
Lycamobile-Preloaded-Sim-29-x-3-1-Extra-month-Free-4-Months-5GB-Per-Month-U
I'd rather have more data per mo (I got 35GB/mo for six mos in the Mint deal) than this 5GB plan, tho I don't really need 35.
