I used 10 to buy my iPhone 12 128gb. You just add them to your iTunes balance, then checkout using your balance to pay.

When I go Checkout on Apple Website it only shows CC, Paypal, or Gift Card with Max of 8. Where is iTunes checkout?

Only place to use apple gift card is at apple store , so if the pricing for hardware at store online is not reduced, you will have to wait for price drop while other retailers might have dropped prices for apple products...something to consider if you're patient...I'm thinking best buy gift card might be better option if they are in fact doing the same

Are you sure the Red Card %5 is applicable on GC purchases? I don't recall getting that last year when I used my Red Card. I then used my Citi Double Cash card instead.

If you have the Chase Freedom card you can pay using Pay Pal to get 5% off if you don't have a Red card

1 per guest. wonder if they will enforce this per target account or per red card or per address.

I guess there is always cash and other credit cards while doing circles around the checkout lane.
If it's tied to Target Circle, I'm guessing they'll close loopholes that have previously allowed multiple purchases. If it's not, then I would just pay cash and find a cashier that just doesn't care.

Anyone know if Apple gift cards can be used w/ the educational discount? Assuming so.

Was thinking about doing this + the best buy deal for $200 of apple credit to get some extra BB/Target credit

Legit question as I see others commenting about buying hardware on Apple.comโ€”is buying Apple products directly from Apple your best deal this holiday season or are you going to be negating the value of your Target cards by overpaying for Apple products? Am I wrong? I don't often buy Apple products and haven't ever bought direct. Seems for those with Apple subscriptions that'll need to be paid anyway, this is a good deal.
While normally you can find Apple products for better sale prices (15% off or so) via MacMall, HHGregg, etc, the main pain point this year is that the base models have only 8gb of ram.

3rd parties never carry Apple's custom built-to-order models (that I know of), which means if you want 16gb of RAM you have to go through Apple this time around.

That may change later with higher tier 13" pros or 16" models, but we're stuck now if you want an Air with 16gb.

Edu pricing for 10% off plus maybe another $40 back gets you to around 14% off total which is a pretty decent deal. I'm assuming here you 1 target gc and 1 best buy gc

Just thinking of ways to use the target GCs since i dont usually buy there haha
Target GC's would be easy to sell for 90% of their value.

I wonder how fast BB and Target will deliver these.

For my mom, I'm thinking:

- Apple Macbook Air 7core, 16gb, 256gb, normally $1199
- $1079 edu discount
- $40 of gift cards back
= $1039

Only downside I guess is if you had to use extended warranty protection you'd lose the value of those $200 worth of gift cards and Chase or whoever would only protect you for up to purchase price minus $200.

Unless your Mom needs a bunch of applications open, 8GB RAM should be enough. Also, don't forget Sales Tax
