How many apple gift cards can you use during checkout?
Website you're able to use 8. There's a different (lower) limit if you check out through the Apple Store app.

A serious question: I know it sounds great - keeping in mind MacBook Air in base configuration... but wouldn't Costco deal be better after all with 2% back (executive members) and 2% back Citi and 2nd plus 2 additional years of Costco Concierge (warranty, essentially)?..
Opinions are welcome; I'm on the fence here
I was waiting for this deal so I can buy MacBook Air for $800. But then realized Costco gave me 2 years warranty, citi card gave me 2 years extra. For $200 that's unbeatable. So Costco deal is better for its customers, but for others, this is a great deal.

Can you just add as many of these cards to your Apple ID balance and spend them that way towards a new iPhone from the Apple store app?

I guess it depends on how much you value the extended warranty coverage. 5 years is nice, but 4% back is only about ~$40.

I'm kind of on the same boat. Was looking at the new M1 MacBook Air, but Costco doesn't have them on their site anymore. I'm a military veteran and can get the one I want for $1149 + tax.

Was thinking of maybe buying 6 x 100 Apple Gift Cards (get $120 Target bonus gift cards). Buy the MacBook Air on apple.com with military pricing and pay the rest off with the Citi Costco Card. You still get 1 year manufacturer and 2 years additional warranty. And according to the Citi Visa site: If your eligible item breaks, we'll repair, reimburse or replace it, up to the amount charged on your Citi card or up to $10,000 per item, whichever is less.

EDIT: Looks like Target is limiting to 1 gift card per customer. Not worth the hassle then.
