Do items purchased with educational pricing get these discounts as well?

Helpful hints.

If doing in store, take $100 apple gift cards to customer service. Make sure each gift card is sealed and intact on back. It will be safer and faster. They will be glad you aren't holding up regular line. Plus, they know what they are doing.

***keep in mind that it's ONE $20 target gift card per order/transaction. So DO NOT let them ring up one or more at same time. They will have to cancel order and Apple gift cards will become dead. If this happens, be sure to NOT use same Apple gift cards again. Get new ones.

Double check each receipt for Apple activation and make sure it matches actual Apple gift card numbers on back. This will help if there is fraud.
I did 15 separate orders. $1500. They put 5 $20 target credits on 1 card for me. So $100 on each target gift card. Have 3 $100 target gift cards. Ask for them to check balance and print off target gift card balance receipt. If you leave counter without checking, it could be a problem if there is a problem.

Good luck.
What time did you go in to do all these? Just trying to figure time where they least busy so that I don't hold up the check out line or something!

Yeah, the CSRs were on my ass about my limit ($1000) and they asked me what i planned to use the cards for to prevent fraud.

I had a few issues which had them come over too much, i was getting them upset.

Tip 1, cover the barcode at the top. The system scans the large wide barcode.

Tip 2, don't double scan. You'll need the CSR to fix it.

Tip 3, don't try to remove an item. I thought i did something wrong by scanning the empty target GC since it didn't show a value on screen. So i tried to remove it - no go. You are doing correct by scanning the card. All 10 of my $20 GCs added to my account AOK.
Use Handheld scanner.. Problem solved.

I finally received my first Apple gift card email this morning (ordered this one around 3 pm EST on 11/22) but it still doesn't show as fulfilled in my target account and I don't yet see the target GC). The other two I bought earlier on 11/22 (around 5 am) still haven't been fulfilled either. Weird that a later order fulfilled first.

I'm sure there are additional terms associated with the warranty. I would like to see someone buy an iPhone and charge $1 on the card and pay rest with GC then claim warranty for a brand new phone Smilie
I don't think it's as crazy as you think. I think the CC companies just purchase warranty coverage through 3rd parties (though to be fair, I don't know who pays it out). In my experience, they don't really care that much about the payout. For one computer, I had a lemon that had needed multiple repairs. They kept paying for the repairs instead of paying for a new one. Finally, I went to an Apple licensed repair shop and got an estimate for actual parts and labor (Apple caps the repair cost as long as it's a supported computer, which lasts a few years). After I sent that in, I got reimbursed for a new computer.

When buying on apple.com I see a limit of using 8 gift cards per order, how do we get around that if you want to buy something costing more than $800?

Main reason is 2-fold:
1. others usually only offer up to 15% off on sale, this will be ~ 20% (though loss of warranty on credit card hurts that a bit)
2. if you want a custom built to order model, the only place to get them is from Apple. In my case I want a 16gb macbook air, and no one will have that. Only 8gb is offered in base models.
