Just to answer some common questions I keep seeing:
- Each card needs to be purchased as a separate Target transaction in order to get the Target card bonus for each Apple card.
- You can use the same Target account, no need to make separate accounts (unless you are trying to circumvent the new limit that seems to have been added today).
- You will get an order confirmation email immediately.
- Apple cards will arrive via email several hours to a day later. The email has a link to Target's fulfillment site which will then take you to the actual gift card code. From there you can either manually copy/paste the code or simply click the link and it should open up the proper program on your computer or phone in order to load the card to your Apple account.
- You will receive another email at some point that informs you that the email with the Apple gift card was sent. This email doesn't have any value.
- Target bonus cards will arrive a day or so later via email. I've found that they generally arrive a few hours after you receive the email I mentioned in the previous point above. Sometimes the cards will already be loaded into your Target wallet in the Target app, but the majority of mine have not been preloaded. The email will contain a link that will load them into your Target account. The Target app also has a button that will allow you to combine all the cards into a single balance for easier use.
- The Apple gift cards will trigger the bonus offers on the Apple site (for instance, buy an Apple TV with the Apple gift cards you bought from Target and Apple will send you a $50 Apple gift card).
- You can use the Target gift cards to buy other items at Target that have a gift card bonus offer, but you can't use them to actually buy more gift cards. For instance, you can buy two packs of laundry detergent which has a $5 Target gift card bonus offer and you'll get the $5 bonus gift card, but you can't use the Target gift cards to buy more Apple gift cards.
- You can load up to $2000 in total balance to your Apple account. Additionally you are only allowed to load $2000 total per day. So even if you buy something using your Apple balance you'll still need to wait a day before you can load more gift cards into your balance.
- You can apply up to 8 gift card codes during checkout at Apple.
Apparently, Best Buy will offer the same deal (BB GC) during BF.

Edit: some idiots have been replying to me on how they like this deal better than BB's since GC is more useful to them. I couldn't care less about your situation. I'm just letting people know about BB's deal.
Assuming you're treating the $20 like cash, you're getting 16.67% off, not 20%.

20% would be if they were only charging you $80 for a $100 gift card. You're paying $100 for $120.

Edit: Unless you're including the Red Card 5% off, in which case it's more like 21%

How do I do this in-store? Im just going to redeem it in store, not worried about scams.

The online cards are taking over 40 hours to be received

Same here on my 6 orders

First time for a target purchase i am seeing "preparing" even after 24 hrs
If all this was getting done by someone for end of day sale on apple website, it could have been huge loss.

Ugh 9 of my 15 orders got canceled. I wonder if I bought them too close together. Might need to spread it out.

I've never bought anything on Target's site before and as I now sit at almost 30 hours since buying one, single solitary card, yet to receive the code, I dare say I probably won't ever again. This is abysmal customer service.

Can you please show a picture of the receipt. Or since you used the red card a picture of the transaction showing $76

I am also able to use only $20 target gift card on each transaction. I loaded a couple $20 to target wallet but it only takes $20 when paying in store. It says $20 limit on self check out. I'm assuming it only lets you use $20 because it's the amount of target gift card you get back and the system thinks that I am purchasing an item for $20? So have been paying $76 with red card and recycling the $20 target gift card.

Apple currently is selling its new Macbook Air for $100 less on its education website. Does anyone know if this is limited time offer or is this discount always there for the education website? Should I wait to purchase the Macbook air during their blackfriday sale when they sometimes give apple gift card? Or buy it now since the $100 off in the education website will go away with the black friday sale?

How can we use the gift cards to buy an Applecare+ plan after the sale on the device is already complete. I still have 52 days remaining to add Applecare coverage.

Where do we go to apply the gift card because at checkout I don't see an option for gift card. Do we need to add this to our balance first for it to show up as an option on checkout?

Can we use these in stores to buy the Applecare+ plans?

How do you get new gift card at self check out? Did you have to bring it from the kiosk?

There is a little stand of those plain white gift cards with target symbol in front of each check out machine.

It's the same gift card that they give you at registers when you get a gift card with purchase

The MacBook Air has always been $100 off on the education site. I thought I read in the fine print for the black friday Apple sale that there would be gift cards for select MacBook Pros and iMacs. It doesn't mention the Air and if I had to guess it will only be for the Intel MacBook Pros and iMacs.

I bought my iPad 63 days ago. On day 61, I called Apple and was told that if I want to add AppleCare+ over the phone, I can only pay with a credit card. Today, I went to an Apple store (I had made an appointment) and took with me 2 gift cards (having the codes only also works). The sales rep just scanned the codes and that was it. Not sure if loading the cards in your balance and then choosing Apple Pay as your payment method works, but I think it should. Hope this helps. Also, I had read that the 2 year plan starting date would be the date of purchase of the iPad, no matter when I add AppleCare+. Apple support confirmed that. The sales rep in store said the coverage expires 2 years from the day I add AppleCare+, not from the purchase date of the device, and she was right. My coverage expires on November 23, 2022.
