I think Slickdeal readers for the most part are a minority. The average person may buy 1 card $100 and they will spend the $20.00 on things of high margin which would be private-label target apparel or other high margin Christmas items. Grocery is not high margin , its a pretty low margin but you are correct that overall their grocery prices are higher. Although they do have some deals and some items that are about the same as your local market or Wal-Mart. Average shoppers don't have the smarts to put the pieces together like this. Some may not even know that Apple cards now are for hardware or digital items, games etc. Apple may be giving Target a little break knowing that plenty of the cards will be used for digital or you will give somebody a $100 Apple card and if that customer wants hardware they will pay the rest in cash. Its a stroke of genius for the Christmas season. Will they run this again this year? Or will they do this next year because it was successful. Target can track the Gift card useage and see how it worked out.

Completely agree on most of your points here. The crazy thing is alot of these retailers don't have the analytics to actually judge these numbers (I know its sounds crazy). You'd be surprised on how many products i told general mills not to bring to market, and they'd still waste millions of dollars bringing them to market only for them to actually flop. Some of these huge retailers, despite being in the fortune 500 just do research and don't act upon it. Every time you see General Mills Kisses cereal or jolly ranchers cereal you can think of me, as I told them not to bring these to market.. And they did, and they will be off the shelves in no time.

I am thinking about using these gift cards to buy and iphone 12 pro at apple.com. Should I pay full price there or do we have any ways to save more (education account, holiday deals, ...)? Thanks in advance.

education has no deals on iphones... so ya, regular apple site is best w/ these target gcs.. if you dont have enough you have 33 min to buy before the deal is gone

Great deal. What's the high score in terms of number of GCs purchased by one person?

I got 30, spent 18 of the Target ones already. Still have all the Apple and 12 Target ones.

i cant even guess.. only iphones and laptops form what i'd see would be worth it.. you can usually get ipads cheaper at other stores.. but maybe he is also saving for furture purchases.

Seems like laptops are best value given you can pair with education discount. iPhones usually have better deals with carriers or Costco

ya agreed... assuming you have a family plan.. else i dont get why people not using visible or red pocket, much cheaper than buying a solo plan. the people paying 50/70 a month for a solo plan are crazy, thats 600/800 a year... vs a redpocket/visible for a few hundred... they should factor that into the "deal they get on the phone".
