- The APPLE gift card ($100) can be used to buy apps, iTunes stuff (music and movies), AND is good at the APPLE store (even for physical goods), but again, that's at the APPLE STORE. Keep in mind everything they sell there, except for some holiday and back to school bonuses, are all RETAIL, REGULAR price.
- The BestBuy gift card (the $20) can be used to buy most anything (except other gift cards, I think?) that BestBuy sells, including Apple stuff. But you'd better have a good use for that $100 above first!
Should also be noted that once you load these gift cards to your account you can't buy physical items in store. You have to use the Apple Store app or website to do in store pick up.
2000$ is the maximum you can have loaded to your Apple ID at a time. I've bought more than that and would use, redeem, and reload to make it work.

I just purchased two - one digital order and one physical (same day pickup in store) order separately & both went through. Got two separate emails to confirm email address for $20 promotional e-gift card delivery once apple gift card is delivered (email)/picked up. Also, used the same account/CC details for both the orders.
Update: Its processing super fast, got Apple GC within 5mins via email after placing the order and immediately the promotional $20 was added to the account too. Received another email that physical gift card is also ready for pickup in store - so no cancellation if you place one digital order and one physical order separately.
I did digital a couple days ago, just did physical and seems to have processed fine. Ready for store pickup 10 minutes after ordering.
Tried to get in on this deal, but Best Buy cancelled my order and sent an email saying "Unfortunately, we had to cancel your order because it has exceeded our orderable quantity limits. Please see our Conditions of Use, which explains order limitations and limited quantities."
What the hell does that even mean? I tried to order one. One exceeds their limit?
Actually Best Buy in recent years has ran edu deals a few times a year that made some of the entry level airs and pros much cheaper than Apple, even with the edu discount. Again, only a few times a year, and must have a .edu email to qualify. So, if you are looking to buy soon, then yes, this Apple GC offer is still your best bet.
How do you know when the EDU deals are coming at Best buy? I definitely want to keep an eye out for that
I tried to buy one gift card at my local Best Buy and the cashier didn't believe that you're supposed to get a free $20 gift card, even though it said "Free $20 Gift Card" on the register. He refused to activate a $20 Best Buy gift card for the purchase. He called his manager over and the manager got inches of my face and aggressively yelled at me, yanked the merchandise and stormed away.
That sounds like a drag. Cashier noted the free gift card and asked a manager how to give it. Manager told cashier to just scan a physical card for me.

Just go to Target. They are glad to have our business. BestBuy seems to not want our business. It seems like BestBuy just falsely advertised the deal to lure innocent people into their store/website with intentions of ultimately selling us full-priced items, while harvesting our personal details during registration, to sell to advertisers.
