Anyone have one of these? how is writing on a sheet of paper on it? I like the idea of these, but worried writing on a sheet of paper on them will not be as comfortable as on the solid desk surface.

same -- I feel like I want a larger mouse pad like this -- but I just worry that my crowded desk will just be a bigger pain in the butt with one of these. That and the keyboard not sliding when I need to push it out of the way.

Might just have to let Santa bring me one and then resent him if I don't like it

I got one few weeks ago which is a better deal than this price. It's soft top so it's ok if you are writing with pen, just don't push too hard, but not ok if it's pencil.

I paid $10.27 for the largest one they had. They had 3 sizes

YSAGi was the brand. $18.99 was the original price but with coupon & tax it came out to $10.27

It may be sturdier than one thinks. I have basically an identical one from a different company also bought from Amazon (I think mine is a Moko maybe?). When you unroll it, it doesn't lie flat because it comes to you rolled up. It takes quite a bit of time for it to become flat. So the material is more resilient than one may think, and while I haven't written on mine, I don't really see much of an issue. Now of course it's not the same as writing on a hard surface. It's not like you can roll up and unroll wood. I would say this is akin to writing on a piece of paper placed on a soft notebook cover. It's not perfect but it'll work.
