Just missed out on the one-day sale at Best Buy, I revisited a previous refurbished deal at NewEgg and found it active again now. $220 seems like a good price for a refurb and appears to have a 1-year manufacturer's warranty. Hope this helps others who missed the new deal at Best Buy!
Be aware that refurb Dyson products typically do have noticeable scuffs/scratches/etc. But this is a decent deal. Got a new one (via a best buy sale) about a year ago for my wife and she loves it.

Is this just a fun gimmick, or does it do something a $20 hairdryer doesn't do?
If you try it out at places like Bed Bath & Beyond, you'll notice the difference.
It is a bit quieter (not by half though) than a normal hairdryer with what feels like a lot more air being pushed through that small thing. The noise has more of a controlled higher frequency tone, feels like it's doing a great job drying your hair.
Thinking back, I don't think it reduced dry time, so maybe the actual performance is pretty similar to a normal $30-$50 hairdryer. It does feel luxurious though and is well built.
I returned mine after 3-4 days as it wasn't as quiet as expected for that amount of money. Packed everything back really neatly, no scratches or anything, returned it at BestBuy. Whoever gets the one I returned will be happy with the refurbished

Best Buy was $256 for new condition. I went this morning and missed out on the one-day sale.

Was that a one day sale or their black friday sale?
From what the sales associate said, it was just a one day sale. Another SDer just happened upon it yesterday and passed it along.
