There seems to be a bit of confusion in these comments, so I did a bit of research. I don't claim this information to be 100% correct, but it is the best information that I could find.

One poster said the right-angle adapter was #DWARA100. This is not correct. That model is older and visually different. Another poster was correct in saying that it is actually #DWARA60. The other similar model that Dewalt currently sells is #DWARA120, which is black instead of yellow. Now, what is the difference between the 60 and the 120? Hard to say exactly. From the exterior, they are identical. Both have a 1.5" depth, both have a hole in the back to push the bit out, both are magnetic and impact-rated. The packaging for the 60 seems to claim 5x longer life. The packaging for the 120 varies between 5x and 10x. On the Lowe's website the packaging claims 5x longer life, but in person the packaging says 10x. (5x or 10x of what, I don't know.)

Anyways, the main difference seems to come down to weight. The 60 is about 5.29oz while the 120 is about 6.67oz, according to the website linked below. This difference in weight appears to be primarily in the gearbox, indicating that the 120 probably has beefier gears and will hold up to more abuse, especially from impact drivers. Nobody on the internet seems to have taken apart the gearboxes to confirm this theory, but it seems likely.

If you want more information on the subject, the Q&A on Lowe's and Home Depot didn't have any good answers, but the comments section on this [toolguyd.com] post were very helpful.

Also, ignore the information on Dewalt's website regarding these adapters. Their information seems to be outdated.

It's actually even cheaper than I thought. I'm going to get another set just to have. https://slickdeals.net/share/android_app/fp/601247
This vs the Milwaukee one? We need for basics like fixing curtain hardware in new home, or other basic issues that we may have to address in the future. Should we get one of those combo kits with the actual machine to drill? Or this and the machine separately? As you can see, we are total novices when it comes to home maintenance and DIY. Only thing we have done is assemble Ikea furniture for apartment, etc level of DIY. All we own as of now is the 10$ Ikea "toolkit".

If one doesn't know how to use these or has opened but realized this is not what they need but something else, would they take it back or is it different for tools like these? Thanks.

You would need a drill, they usually don't come with the bits. So get the Milwaukee bit set and then get one of the drill sets but check on Slickdeals for the best deal. These bits will work with any drill so get the drill for your budget.

I should have probably pulled the trigger on the one at 39$ for drill + bits on Amazon prime day but lack of any clue delayed my decision by which time it was back to mid 50s in price - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B006V6Y...TFbRTP8YR3

Whats the difference between the new and old?
The "new" one that was on sale recently is silver with a black head (DWARA120). It's a couple years old, and has a stronger magnet and shorter head (1.5") than this older one (DWARA100). Both are impact rated.

There's also a DWARA50 which is yellow with a black head, and that is not impact rated and does not have a magnet.
