I believe this is the lowest price ever offered from JBL on the PB100, which is a really great speaker in this market.

I have two of these and this speaker has been available at $199 several times this year.
It's great for outdoor movies. I use a fire TV stick hooked up to my projector, linked to one speaker over bluetooth (the fire seems to think it's a bluetooth headphone, but whatever). Turn the speakers on, hold down the bluetooth buttons on both simultaneously for five seconds and the speakers link and connect to the fire TV. I do have to use a test audio clip to figure out which is right and which is left, though.

What outdoor projector do you have?
I don't have any use for a "party speaker" and my question was an honest one about why one would be better than the other. I forget that I don't hear the nuances others do. Honestly, to me, the all sound fine... I am sure that will incite some sort of riot and it is probably not the answer you sought.
All fine man, I asked because I wanted to see what's comparison you are making. It is true for Anker speakers in small size speaker are not much different comparing to JBl. The speaker drivers are small that don't produce clear and punchy sound at max volume. Why would you pay a charge 3 cost $100+ dollars compares to an Anker sound core cost $30+ dollars only for 1/3 of the price. But, when comparing at the larger portable speaker like the party box. You can distinguish the high treble and tight punchy bass on JBL speakers. These speakers are in two different categories! Have a good day .

JBL is the right choice for you for Hip Hop and heavy bass. Marshall is more for vocal, instrumental and rock for the wide soundstage.
I really want to get it but honestly don't see when I would use it. But I imagine in the one time I might need it this would be awesome.
