" If you want to store dry pet food in another storage container, put the entire bag into the container rather than pour the kibble directly into it."
Edit: your chewy link says the same thing, keep it in the bag. And then links you to a container similar to the one I linked. LOL.
" Dr. Nelson says you should store the whole bag of dog food inside of the airtight dog food storage containers. That way, the bag can provide an added barrier that helps seal in fats and oils to prevent them from becoming rancid later.
Keeping dog food in the original bag will also ensure that pet parents have access to the UPC code, lot number, "best by" date and brand and manufacturer information in case of a problem, like a defect or recall, according to the FDA. When you file a complaint about your dog's food, all of this information likely will be required."
You aren't going to find someone that says pouring the food out of the bag in to another container being better than keeping it in the bag and then placing that bag inside the container.
I assume kibble bags are not flexible enough to be able to stuff the bag into the vault. Perhaps putting a flexible bag into the vault and then pouring the kibble in would help, then you seal that flexible bag every time to reduce air contact.
Very good reminder about keeping the upc/ lot info from the bag.
Another poster also mentioned the gamma lids you use on a bucket, seems like that would work better for kibble bags. I get 5 gallon buckets for free from the bakery, but those lids are not inexpensive.
Small amount of space ~Each held 2-25 lb.bags pet food for our rescue! And had a 1 cup scoop inside.
